I know this is a weird subject to post on a parenting website, but I've come across mumsnet when I've googled relationship and health issues in the past and the advice members give is always real good.
I am 34 next month and find myself single. All I really want is to meet someone and settle down and have kids but I just haven't met the right guy yet.
I worry constantly that I'm getting too old and it's going to get more difficult to have kids..am I being silly?

I met husband at 34, married 36, baby 37, sadly divorce at 41 but that is because he turned out to be cheating arse - I thought it was a fairy tale adn didn't marry because of my age...no reason that you can't have your happy ending!!

Easy to say I know, but don't panic. I met DH at 33, married at 35, had DD at 36 and now at 38 trying to decide if we should have another. Sign up to Match.com and see what happens. You still have plenty of time.

Another vote for match.com - I met DP on there nearly 4 months ago Grin

Your chance of meeting someone avaiable depends alot on where you live-a small town has fewer available.also your work as this is where so many meet Internet dating: try Guardian soulmates as match.com is very general ;either way with int dating you are meeting strangers who can tell you a load of rubbish.

But PTBD you can just as easliy meet someone who tells you a load of rubbish in a bar or at a party (IME more likely as that was XBoyf to a T)

A woman I knew very well was dumped after 5 years at 32, then at 34 went off on a singing weekend with her choir, met a man from 300 miles away & fell in love.
She had the baby she wanted at almost 38.
Don't despair, the men are there.

You have much longer than you think. You can get pregnant in your early to mid 40's.

Hope you meet someone, most of it is down to luck and you will meet plently of single men via internet dating, whether you meet someone you want to be in a 24/7 relationship is another matter.

I was like you at 32, had a baby at 33 but was on my own as he didn't stay with us, still am 17 years later. Been on lots of internet dates aswell Grin. I am grateful that circumstances made me want to keep my baby even though I was on my own.
