How To Make My Nephew Stop Sending Us Cards?

NotQuiteCockney · 29/11/2005 17:04

We got another card from our nephew today, thanking us for the little board book we gave him, at his recent 21-day party. He is not yet 6 weeks old. Shouldn't he have better things to do than write us cards?

Seriously, how do I get my SIL and BIL to stop writing letters "from" a tiny baby? I could cope if the note was from a child old enough to speak, but this is ridiculous.

Yes, I believe I have mentioned it before (ahem). You do rib or twisted rib for 10 rows or whatever, then a row of purl, then start the knit rows (it's in the round). The purl row is the facing row, and when you finish you turn the rib under and slipstitch it. Probably a nightmarish prospect for you as it means even more sewing

OMIGOD!!! JULIE DIED?? HUH?

I didn't know, I remember seeing the signs when it was closed... and last time I went in she wasn't there...

Oh that is so terrible. Terrible. Do you know what happened?

NotQuiteCockney · 29/11/2005 19:36

Um, yes. More sewing. Not a hit.

Sewing = evil. No sewing for me, thank you.

Oh hell, I'm really sorry, I had talked about it on here but I forgot that you weren't around. No, I have no idea how or why, it was just after she came back from the states. I heard from the cityknitty yahoo group. I was really upset too, and dd burst into tears when she heard. Very

weesaidie · 29/11/2005 19:42

Oh jeez, that is so depressing. She was so nice and helpful. Oh, oh oh.

Wonder who the lady was? She was older and small, I thought maybe Julie's mum.

Oh dear. Can't believe I went in and didn't even realise!

Thanks for telling me anyway. I will pop in soon if you are free, will email.

I strongly recommend the slip-stitch rib I've got hooked on, give it a try - it's (p2 k1 slip 1 perl-wise, wyib, k1) (right side) then (k2 p3) (wrong side). Comes up all springy and lovely.

I've started looking at free tam patterns online, not made tams. There are some scary free hat patterns out there. I found one with what purported to be dreadlocks coming out the top. Why would anyone want that? (They didn't look like dreadlocks. They looked like thick bits of wool dangling down.)
