Apparently my ex stiil likes me but thinks I'm bullshit. WTF?

I bumped into my exes friend yesterday and he said he was sorry to hear that we'd split up. (For the best). he then said that he thinks that my ex still likes me but thinks I'm bullshit right now. What the fuck does that mean?

I do not want to get back with the guy but I'm beginning to feel that the abuse continues. I'm not too impressed with him either.
