'Too busy' to see the grandkids

My bloody in laws.

There are ongoing issues, but this is the latest and I am just moaning really.

They live 10 miles away and are retired. They drive. I do not. It is a nightmare to get there on the bus with my 2 and would take a few hours due to buses - yep, seriously.

Anyway, this week they are too busy to visit because they are bowling. Wtf? And then they wonder why the baby is shy of them? And why the 4 yr old doesn't want to go out with them.

They just sound like they can't be bothered.

I ahve the same problem with fil - always too busy.

It used to irritate the bejesus out of me....like really really get up my nose....but hey, you know what? There's nothing you can do about it....it's their loss.

It's a pity and a shame for them to choose to miss out, but you can't force them to take an interest. The only person that's going to suffer by continuing to get irate over this is yourself. The kids won't miss what they've never had.

Yeah, they can't be arsed.

I am a bit hurt.

2 yrs! I guess that as I was close to my gps and grew up in an extended family, I think of that as the norm.

DrGrunt, my Mum is a big part of thier lives too so we are lucky that way. She lives 4 doors away and we see her all the time. It is fab. That is how it was for me too growing up.
