Can I serve divorce papers on my absent H to our address if he doesn't tell me where he's living

Am posting on another thread, but a new issue has come up which my sol is looking into.
H left 5 weeks ago (affairs etc) and he is not forthcoming about where he is. I need to serve papers on him but need a residential address. Anyone been in the same situation that can advise. Sol will find out for sure but wondered what other people had to do to free themselves!

Hello, just spotted this so perhaps you have an answer already. The court requires proof that your husband has received the petition. They get this either by him completing and returning the acknowledgement of service or failing that by him being served by the court bailiff. There is nothing to top you serving the papers to his work address as long as the envelope I marked private so the office junior doesn't have a read first! Either that or what about care of his parents. It wouldn't be correct to use your address if he's moved out now. Hope that helps.

do you have a solicitor who can help OR if you have CSA case they can trace him possibly ? If sending anything make sure you send registered as proof you have tried This is an awful thing to say but if you have lived apart for 5 years divorce is easy to get!! Do you know anyone who might know where he lives?

OP i had the same problem 7 years ago as Mickeylou has said workplace or his parents they are bound to know who knows he might even be staying at theirs
