Who do you poo in front of?

spidermama · 17/10/2005 21:51

I ask because on another thread people seem to be perfectly happy to poo in front of their dh's. I definitely wouldn't poo in front of him and he wouldn't in front of me.

Am I a prude?

i poo in front of ds & dh its very hard not to has we have no bathroom door we havent had one for about 12 months. i do prefare to be on my own.

bosscat · 17/10/2005 22:44

Good god no-one. shudders.

bobbybob · 17/10/2005 22:44

Just ds, which is ironic really as he won't poo in front of us.

monstersmummy · 17/10/2005 22:44

ds1 if he wanders in(we live in aflat and the doors don't shut) but no one else....dp has IBS so would HATE it if he decided to share !!

spidermama · 17/10/2005 22:46

Yikes edgetop! Your poor visitors. How do they cope with no lavatory door?

frannykenstein · 17/10/2005 22:46

I prefer to poo in peace but chance would be a fine thing. If possible dp and I don't poo in front of each other but sometimes needs must. Like when you are trying to push a 9lb baby out of you

Gobbledispook · 17/10/2005 22:48

Nobody.
But sometimes I can't shake ds3 off and he has to watch (13months old)

spidermama · 17/10/2005 22:48

Yup franny. Not much you can do to avoid that.

ah the days of the private poo... [wistful nostalgic emoticon]
I am surprising pleased to see that I am at the uninhibited end of the bowel movement spectrum.

Pixiefish · 17/10/2005 22:49

Dd if she comes in. Definetly NOT dh

QueenVictoria · 17/10/2005 22:52

This thread reminds me of a recurring nightmare i have!

Im not bothered about DP and DD seeing me do whatever but my DP doesnt like to see door open and hates people seeing him on the loo!

buffytheharpsichordcarrier · 17/10/2005 22:55

ooh QV tell me about your recurring nightmare.
is it - public toilets, no doors or walls??

motherinferior · 17/10/2005 23:04

It has been known in front of both Inferiorettes, much though I would prefer not. DP only while giving birth.

Tampons all of them, dammit. Quite frankly the bloke impregnated me, he ought to be a bit familiar with the workings of the female reproductive system.

Our bathroom door is always open unless visitors are here

QueenVictoria · 17/10/2005 23:26

Sort of buffy! I need to go and everytime i go into a cubicle the door is too small and only goes halfway up or there is no door at all, even though there are dozens of cubicles.

Ive had it for years and years in one guise or antoher - always the same, need the loo cant find one with a decent door!

How did you know???????

buffytheharpsichordcarrier · 17/10/2005 23:29

I have it too.... usually no doors at all, but sometimes only half there.
have had it for years and years.
once I had to go in a loo with a tiny tiny door (actually in a prison cell in court.... long story) like a proper living nightmare

QueenVictoria · 17/10/2005 23:33

I wonder if anyone can shed any light on it????

I read once that dreams of going to the loo was like letting go of something emotionally but i have no idea how it relates to our dream!

HuggyBear · 17/10/2005 23:36

uuuuuurggggghhh only the ds's and thats cause i have no choice!!

NotQuiteCockney · 18/10/2005 07:10

I'd rather not poo in front of anyone, but don't care enough to make them go away. Oh, DS1 went through a phase of wanting to see, and discuss, my poo, which did annoy me a bit.

Don't care about tampon changes, except in that it will raise some irritating questions from DS1 when he notices. (He still doesn't entirely believe I don't have a willy, I think - he thinks I have a furry one.)

dejags · 18/10/2005 08:32

Yuck Nobody!

Goes for poos, wees and tampons!

triceratops · 18/10/2005 08:47

I love mumsnet.

Pooing should be private but ds is facinated and makes a fuss if locked out. He won't poo in front of me though.

Being able to go to the loo without company is one of the pre child things that I really miss. We have four loos in our house and only three bums so I don't see why I can't have one to myself.

shades1 · 18/10/2005 09:08

no-one, and I don't blow my nose in front of anyone either.

Had a lock fitted on the bathroom door to stop DS1 and DS2 wandering in when I'm on the loo.

DH will in front of any of us.

teeavee · 18/10/2005 09:11

what a disgusting question!
none of your business!
is nothing sacred????!
