Need advice... Husband on escort site before trip abroad

Have name changed for this (at least I hope it worked)

Am almost 30 weeks pregnant with first baby. Yesterday Husband was due to go and visit some friends in a European city. I turned on his laptop yesterday morning to find open a site for escorts in the city he was due to be visiting - 7 different profile pages.

I confronted him about this and he said he was very embarrassed I'd seen it but he swore he hadn't intended doing anything. He said he was just using it to look at and the fact that it was for the city he was going to just made it more real. He said he's found it frustrating as our sex life has been pretty much non-existent since I got pregnant so has been looking at a few sites but would never consider actually doing anything. We both had a cry (first time I've ever seen him cry) and he didn't go.

I think I believe him and have never had any reason in past not to trust him but naturally have this nagging doubt and wonder if I am just being very naive?

Would love to get peoples thoughts on this

I agree with WWIFN.

Where is the "I would never cheat on you, and certainly not with prostitutes!"? It sounds as though he's only concerned about the risk of what he might catch.

I wouldn't trust this man as far as I could kick him.

Why bother with seven pages if he is only just looking?

He's been found out, no wonder there were tears....he sounds so selfish. I wouldn't believe him.

What on earth will he be like when the baby is born and sex becomes more of a problem because of sleepless nights, etc.?

Please don't ignore this warning sign. There is a massive difference between searching for escort sites in general for titillation and searching for sites in a specific place.

However you might desperately want to brush this under the carpet, please don't. You need to get to the bottom of what he was thinking and why he thought it was ok and make sure he knows absolutely what your boundaries are on this.

Sorry. I know how horrible and threatening this is.

if all he wanted was some sexual relief, why not a standard porn site? going to escort pages on the place he was visiting, means, to me, he was planning to buy some sex. sorry but i really think he was.

you have had some great advice on here, please listen to WWIFN in particular, she is a beacon of light and sense, keep going until you feel you can make a decision one way or another re this man.

Not the same thing at all, in my opinion. But if you are looking for a bit of light relief, there's plenty of free sites and stuff.
It's the same nonsense as "I was only on dating sites for a laugh." If you want a laugh, go to Jongleurs ffs.
He was lining up an extra marital fuck and got rumbled. It's not the same as your wife not feeling up for it so you have a quick hand shandy to tide you over.

unobtanium · 28/08/2012 12:44

MrB, not sure you're posting on the right thread or even forum?

OP, Relate sounds good. In your position I would resolve to listen really hard to your DH (as well as open up yourself, obviously)... I would be inclined to give him a little more benefit of the doubt that some posters on here.

The way you describe him and this recent slip-up just don't quite square.

You are upset, understandably, and I am very sorry. I'm just hoping it can be sorted out.

Old thread here. Resurrected for reasons unknown, but probably not good.

ScrambledSmegs · 28/08/2012 12:51

Very old thread. Not really sure how MrB found it.
