Do you all still celebrate Valentines Day?

Just wondering as when I asked my friends what they are doing on V/Day they looked at me as if I was mad and said to me "of course not". Im going out with my husband as we do go out on V/Day every year. We have been together for 13 years. Is anyone else going out on V/Day and if not why?

I've got DP a card and he's got one for me. I suggested we didn't do presents this year as we're getting married on the 26th and I'm getting him a present for that - but he looked sad and said he'd get me a present anyway as he loves buying things for me Smile We usually stay in and cook something a bit special as he really likes cooking.

I used to be a florist so Valentines Day was one big headache for me!

Yes, just a card (I usually get flowers as well and on the odd occasion even a gift - woop!) and cook a nice(er) meal.

Can't bear going out though, overpriced set menus and crap service. Not my cuppa.

Nah. I've never done Valentine's Day since I was passing an M&S one year and they had Valentine's stuff displayed right at the entrance and it was just swarming with all these men who had evidently just popped in to grab something for their partners on their way home from work - the same red roses, box of chocolates and teddy bears. I just thought what is the point of such ininspiring gestures?

I much prefer an impromptu bunch of tulips TBH!

We usually exchange cards and have a special meal at home (having worked in restaurants I know how over priced and rushed they are on Valentine's Evening Grin) - my DH always buys me flowers - I wish he wouldn't as they are so expensive but we've been married 23 years and despite numerous times of me asking him not to he still does !!
