i have been very ill with man flu. this started with a sore throat and chills, so dh set me up on the settee watching films. he made me a brew ( in fact he made thousands of them for me) after he tucked me in on the settee with the quilt he said " just shout if you need anything"
i whispered " i think i need a bell or something!"

he them promptly went over to the drum kit, brought over a drum, placed it at my side - handed me a stick and told me to give it a bask when i wanted another brew or if i wanted him to change films.

he's alove pot, how nice is that!

makes a change from me calling him a twat on here.

:) yep, I was ready for a reminder about NICE partners :)

I assumed a "bask" was some special drum-stroke - you could have got away with that!! Get well soon. x

Oh, that's so nice Smile

Hope you start to feel better soon.

Btw, dd2 says she'd love to be in a band with you, once she's had a few more sax lessons Grin

Wanna swap? Mine is trying my patience atm. He also has the hangover from hell manflu. Which has nothing to do with him staying out until 4am on Saturday night/Sunday morning Hmm

Your's sounds lovely.

MmeBodyInTheBasement · 11/10/2010 08:21

Ah, how nice to hear a good story about a DH. We tend only to read the bastard-left-me-and-the-kids OPs, and it is easy to forget that there are good guys out there.

Have you summoned him with the drum then?

Tortington · 11/10/2010 12:10

i summoned him lots of times in the course of that evening!

sadly i have my voice back so i can't summon via the drum anymore!

you've made this thread on purpose, haven't you? Shock
just to rub it in that my lovely DH who makes me cups of tea and looks after me has gone away. :(

I'm glad you're feeling better, though! Grin

I really need him now, too - I had a run-in with a bunch of reprobate kids (who I can't prove stole anything), and also with the lady next door about the jungle out the back of the shop (not a nasty one, just got to me), and I really need a big big hug. :(

custardo, (or HellMouthCustardo, great name!) you'll have to lend me your DH for the rest of the week.
Wink

I love the idea of you sat on the sofa summoning your man to your beck and call with a big drum! Personally I think I would like a gong.

You are a lucky lady and I am very jealous (but in a good way).

I can't fit two men in my bed....

I'll have to give it a miss and keep pining for mine. :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

oh how lovely! I was just about to start a very similar thread yesterday, but I was too poorly. I was out on Sunday afternoon doing some work and came home earlier than planned because I was feeling a bit wobbly.

Basically got home at 6.30 and went straight up to bed. DH brought me food, tea, water, drugs, kisses, put the baby to bed, made me sleep on the 'wrong' side of the bed so he would be closest to the door and would get up for the night wakings. I then had a miserable night - slept for about 2 hrs, then my throat was swollen up and I was shivery, clammy, joints aching, skin crawling from about 1am until morning. DH took the baby to nursery, arranged to work at home and let me sleep until past noon. Then brought me soup, drugs, tea, water, kisses and gently encouraged me out for a slow stroll in the fresh air in the late afternoon. He then cooked dinner, put baby to bed, kept me supplied with tea, water, kisses. Slept on the door side of the bed again (baby didn't wake last night yay!)

Worst thing is though... it's DH's birthday today and I have not arranged anything. Blush I kept asking him what he wanted and he says daft things like "happy wife and smiling boy". He's arranged his own birthday tea, and (oh the shame) I have had to ask the nursery that if they're doing any hand painting today can they make it look like it says happy birthday...

Slightly concerned DH is a bigamist though... as he sounds so similar to Custardo's! Mind you if he can look after two sick wives in a weekend that makes him even more saintly. Grin
