OK brief history

Separated from hubby

Few disastrous relationships.

Met a guy I thought would be a keeper - we went on holiday it was a disaster and he is totally dumped (my choice)

So, get back from hols and a really old friend comes to visit.

Really old in both senses - known him almost 30 years, and he's tons older than me.

And reader I shagged him.

Oh fuck.

Slap me.

You probably just feel weird cos it was unexpected and outwith the lines your friendship has been on. My dh is 15 years older than me - its no biggie - we've been married four years and have an almost 1 yr old.
Have fun - it may not go somewhere or it might.

I'd go for it
you only get one lifetime and your happiness might lie with this man

TDiddy · 14/08/2010 19:23

Hi- glad that you sound happy. Have fun and continue being relaxed about it...will serve you well and you are less likely to get hurt. Cynical, I know....

Eurostar · 14/08/2010 19:40

Am wondering what a 28 year old was doing hanging around with a 12 year old but other than that - worrying about being a slut when you are 42 for having consensual sex with a man seems a tad ridiculous. If you are using contraception, protection and nobody is getting hurt, what's the problem? I understand you may be worried about losing a very old friend because having sex can change a friendship and jealousies and expectations can creep in - but that's not what you seem to be worried about?

bottyburpthebarbarian · 14/08/2010 19:46

Eurostar - I did a sport, he was in the club.

Yes I think you've hit the nail on the head.

I'm worried that I won't be able to rely on him or talk to him the same because we've slept together

Eurostar, I was wondering exactly the same thing - what was a 28 year old doing hanging around a 12 year old?

bottyburpthebarbarian · 14/08/2010 19:51

It was a sailing club.

We all raced on boats together.

And he coached me in the beginning, and as I got older I crewed for him (like 14, 15), and socialized at the club, where he was - nothing weird I promise!

15 years is nothing. My DP is 9 years older than me and I and my father, weirdly consider him almost a little young for me. Get on him it !

happiestblonde · 14/08/2010 20:05

didnt mean for bold sorry x

beammeupscotty · 14/08/2010 20:11

My crystal ball says you will be marry him!

Taghain · 14/08/2010 20:32

You like each other, you've been good friends for years, you've crewed so there is respect and trust between you.

Just appreciate this good time and opportunity to enjoy each other in new ways. If you're 42, he's 58 then the difference isn't that much.

Don't feel weird, feel lucky you haven't missed out on some great sex.

Have a good time tonight, too.

kittya · 14/08/2010 21:47

15 years doesnt sound much but, Im 42 and, for some reason 58 sounds older!! I dunno why, its younger than Robert De Niro and, I would shag him!!

Enjoy it! what else are you going to do on a Saturday night?? Im jealous!
