Or rather Norman Painting, the actor who has played Phil for over 50 years who died today. No more astronomy or competitive baking.

Well I listened tonight with a lump in my throat. Poor old Norman Painting sounded very frail, and did anyone else sense a sort of forced jollity between Ruth and Jill in the scenes at Glebe Cottage?
