Does anyone listen to Dish?

I’ve just started listening, and only heard a few eps, but find the Waitrose goody bag handed to celebrities at the end quite jarring.

Do they need a gift bag, could that food not be used in a better way, or a monetary donation given to a charity of the celeb’s choice?

I doubt Kate Winslet, for example, is in dire need of free food.

It seems a bit crass in the current climate, and particularly at Christmas.

I'd never heard of this - my radio listening is generally BBC generated with a small amount of Classic FM thrown in.

Giving away free food to celebrities would really annoy me. Which is probably one of the reason I am very wary of content generated by commercial concerns to advertise their products

I can't listen to it.... Can't bear the clattering noise of the two presenters guffawing over each other without saying anything remotely funny, or really saying anything at all.

As for the foodie giveaway, it's clearly a Waitrose infomercial.

Yes it is a Waitrose infomercial, but I’m sure they could be more creative with their ‘goody bags’ and give the company a better rep

I love Dish. It’s such a feel good podcast and I really enjoy Nick and Angela (although her laugh can get in the bin).

The Waitrose goody bag is just a bit of promotion, hardly jarring. Perhaps the celebs donate it to the nearest vagrant on their way home. 🤷‍♀️

I really like the podcast and I’ve cooked quite a few of the recipes. The hosts won Best Hosts award at the 2025 podcast awards. Agree the goodie bag is just an infomercial for Waitrose.
