What should I listen to next? I’ve listened to the witch farm and all of uncanny, and I’m tempted just to start series 1 of uncanny again. But, are there are any similar podcasts I could enjoy?

other things I listen to, the gift (dna, on bbc sounds), infinite monkey cage, more or less, you’re dead to me. To give an idea of what sort of other stuff I listen to. But I really want more ghost stories / tales of the unexplained.

many thanks!!

I’m so glad I found this thread as I’m looking for the same sort of programmes. I’ve not heard of into the fog,. I’m off to give it a try now, I really enjoyed The Hotel and would definitely recommend it.

Haunted Cosmos by Ben Garrett and Brian Sauve is excellent. The storytelling is so well written and it's very creepy in places.

Ooh I love the little surges on this thread! Thank you all, it’s so appreciated. I’m compiling myself a big list to work through after I’ve finished the uncanny book on audible. So many wonderful suggestions!!

I have recently enjoyed Sian eleri’s programme on bbc Paranormal. There are three seasons and they’ve all been an interesting watch.

Odd Trails is a great ‘true’ paranormal podcast with people sending in their own weird and unexplained experiences. Not just ghosts but cryptids/UFOs etc. too. I love it!

NB: it is presented by a man called Andrew Tate, but he’s not THAT one

I’ve started working through Into The Fog and am really enjoying it. So nice not to have an AI voice too. I’m going to search for Odd Trails too.

I enjoyed Tanis, Rabbits and The Last Movie - all by Public Radio Alliance. Fiction but in the style of found footage/documentary. All very strange and other worldly. Would recommend!

I subscribe to Into the Fog, it’s a grey channel I find Peter Laws voice very soothing as well, he’s a great narrator. I can also recommend Mr Ballen on YouTube, he describes his channel as the “The dark, strange and mysterious” so covers a lot!

I found weird in the wade very dull. And I live near the wade so I should be the target audience. I love uncanny though.

Lovecraft Mysteries are fantastic and also funny in places. Start with the Curious Case of Charles Dexter Ward. Nicola Walker very good as the sceptical academic - like a feisty version of Cieran from Uncanny! But annoyingly Series 3 has disappeared from BBC Sounds for some reason.

I used to really like Unexplained but it is now ruined by terrible intrusive adverts that completely ruin the atmosphere that the narrator creates

CheeseWisely · 19/04/2025 22:40

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned but the Morbid podcast do primarily true crime but some paranormal episodes. It’s American and the presenters can be a bit extra at times but if that’s not an issue for you they can be quite good.

It’s series 2 that has gone, apparently the bbc forgot to renew the licence. If you like Julian Simpson work look at cartoongravity websit, and you can get all his other works that link into pleasant green etc and find out who “Mary” from the very end of the haunter of the dark really is.
