No respect for listeners or presenters

Sangita Myska completely disappeared or 'refreshed ' - huge increase in listening figures earlier in year, award winning presenter last year, and not a word from other presenters.... replaced by Vanessa Felt...

I wasn’t a fan of Sangita and am a huge fan of Vanessa so I think this is a good move

Feltz isn't a replacement as she is on at a completely different time.

The guy they replaced her with, had Myska's slot before she joined LBC. Then for some reason they put him on at night. I guess they want people to switch of their radios at weekend lunchtimes.

Terrible. Sangita is an outstanding presenter and that’s not just my view it’s supported by her listening numbers and awards.
Very strange how it was done too - no goodbye or notice - lots of talk of censoring on Twitter.

I always made a point of tuning in for Sangita, especially summer afternoons while gardening. I thought she must have been on holiday then I heard about Vanessa Feltz so looked it up. I loved listening to Sangita. There’s a petition to reinstate her running on change.org not that it will do any good but will at least show her the high regard many people had for her on LBC.

I love Vanessa! She is great. Very pleased she is joining lbc.

What has she been censored for? Did she say something controversial (in some people’s eyes)?

I saw on Twitter that there is a petition going already signed by 30,000 listeners.

She just suddenly disappeared and the explanation the station is trying to give is that this was due to falling audience which comes across as rather nonsensical.

More likely it was her interview with an Israeli government spokesperson over its military action in Gaza where they clashed that got her sacked.

Sad that none of her colleagues had the guts to at least question what was happening and why.

I won't be tuning into that station anymore because I don't believe in censorship. People should be allow to debate the current situation in Gaza and express opposing views.

Oh, so she is pro ceasefire and that got her sacked?! Fuuuuuck.

I was reading about this yesterday. It's awful. I'm not a huge LBC listener but when I did listen it was almost always to Sangita when travelling or cleaning! I thought she was great and am really annoyed about this.

The interview with an Israeli official is readily available, and I don’t think she’s been on since. I would like to hear a statement from LBC. Maybe she will say something herself in due course. It is sad if none of her colleagues said anything but who knows what goes on behind the scenes, same as any organisation.

I haven’t listened to Vanessa. What’s she like?
