I’ve really really tried to make the transition from Ken to Vernon but it just ain’t happening and I now listen to Ken on Greatest Hits Essex.

The main reasons are:

VK’s love affair with himself. Why does he think we’re that interested in his life/past. He sometimes talks over people just to tell us yet another autobiographical tale. Yawn.

There is literally NO chemistry between him and Ritchie like there was with Ken. It’s so awkward sometimes that it’s cringeworthy.
The new pop quiz. Just no.

He isn’t Ken Bruce.

It's all awful tbh.

Vernon bores me stupid.
Scott bored me stupider.
Zoe makes me homicidal, she's so annoying!

I do like Sara Cox and I'd prefer if she were on in the morning instead of Zoe.

Maybe controversial but I hate Ritchie the most. Maybe it's the accent (I'm from that neck of the woods myself, hate my own accent too)... he's just pointless. Every time he's says 'XX has bin on and there's a tailback blah blah' I cringe. Terrible!

I miss Ken so much but his show has adverts... I've mostly flipped to radio 6.

Radio 2 is so loud now, all the chatting and excitement and loud jingles. I feel it has really lost it's way. I don't want adverts so not sure where to defect to. I generally like the music , love what Lisa plays but not her presenting style.

I heard Radio 2 in someone's car a few years ago and the chatter was annoying. Radio 4 or Radio 3 for me.

Im loving Vernon and JV now. We are all different, I think it's a great show now. I was sceptical about Vernon taking over Ken but it's worked out great. I can't listen to R2 at the weekend. I love Lisa Tarbuck but cannot stand Michael Ball or Steve Wright. I miss Vanessa and wish Joanna Lumley was on for an hour a day with her soothing voice to chill us out 😂
I agree about Scott Mills, I can't see what the hype is about him he is beyond a bore. Sara Cox is definitely the best and so funny. I can tolerate Zoe for a bit leading up to half 9. If I was out walking earlier I'd choose another music source rather than listen to her squawk.

I really liked the temporary stand in before Vernon started. I can't remember his name but really rated him. Vernon is too "wahey! Banter!" for me. I ended up switching channels a few weeks back because he kept doing this bit with his background music. Wasn't that funny the first 3 times, but he then ran and ran with it for a painfully long time. You could tell Richie was thinking wtf and humouring him. Really cringe.
The music is much younger too, I prefer the older stuff KB played. Ten from the top is also not as good as pop master. I find Scott Mills is a no from me too. I think it's a shame that they have a habit of putting radio 1djs out to pasture on radio 2. Totally different listener demographics and it alienates the older listeners.

The only radio 2 show I enjoy now is Jeremy Vine. The rest, I listen to podcasts or magic fm.

It. Was. Scathing.

And Ritchie just sort of laughed and carried on, which I did respect as I would have cried. It was shortly after Ritchie started and they were getting him on every five mins to talk about his rugby thing etc. They were really overdoing the "box ticking" thing with him when he started, which wasn't really his fault, but clearly annoyed the hell out of Ken!

I really can't stand Scott he's so boring. Vermin I'm small doses I'd okay. I used to enjoy Ken but GHR plays the same songs ,, used to like radio 2 .

I don't really listen to radio 2 as much anymore.

I don't mind Zoe, but she's a wee bit too excitable in the morning for me. But I can't stand Ritchie - so that means I find something else to listen to on my way into work.

Can't listen during the day as no radio allowed at work.

Love Sara cox though.

I listen to Radio 2 throughout the day. Loved Vernon at the start but he's becoming irritating. Zoe Ball is too nicey nicey and annoys me, so only switch on at 9.15 ish.

I'm happy with Vernon and very happy that Ritchie is not a big part of the show like he is with Zoe. Just read the bloody traffic. Ten to the Top is a decent replacement for Popmaster for me & I listen most days. Vernon's Vault has had me laughing out loud at times & is an excellent concept.
I love the concept of the JV show, enjoy chatting about the news and hearing other perspectives on things, less keen on him and some of his inane remarks and attempts to wind up callers but listen anyway and like it especially when other presenters sit in.

I'm getting to like Vernon. I never did get the Saint Ken Bruce thing anyway. All the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth when he left - so what, listen to him on GHR.

Love Sara. Owain has grown on me (I have a very early commute), and I can listen to Zoe too and think, Ritchie fits well with her. Also think Scott is a bit boring, and Vernon is OK but I wasn't a fan of Ken.

I love Liza tarbuck and like Michael ball's warmth.

Richie Anderson I really really dislike. The shoe horning him into programmes and events. He is not personable and i find him fake.

I like Lisa Tarbuck's eclectic music choices, but I can't stand hearing her rabbit on and her affected speech and smug giggle. Michael Ball is great.

Vernon has grown on me too - and I take my hat off to him for that ultramarathon he’s just run. Bloody hell, that was some feat.

Liza Tarbuck isn’t funny in the slightest - her ramblings are like those of a slightly mad uncle who everybody avoids because he thinks he’s mad, me.

Ritchie Anderson is without doubt the most talentless of them all. He’s all about self promotion and his lack of interest in anyone else shines through. Quite how he’s got this gig is a mystery.
