is back (repeats before you all get very excited!). Sundays, Radio 4 at 7.15pm (after The Archers) from tomorrow night, 17th May. First episode is Abu Dhabi. I can't wait even though I've heard them all several times!

Helsinki was never one of my favourite episodes, but I do enjoy the way Stephanie Coleman's accent subtly morphs during the episode to become like her sister's. I wonder if that was her idea or the director's or John Finnemore's?

TakeMeToYourLiar · 12/07/2020 08:44

Does that mean it's Ipswich tonight?

Strong contender for my favourite episode

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 12/07/2020 19:34

Gdansk, apparently. Which is fine, but not Ipswich.

TakeMeToYourLiar · 13/07/2020 10:01

Pretty much what I said when it came on!!

I can't understand why they went out of sequence for a re-run. Hoping for Ipswich next weekend

Which in itself is mad as I have the cds and audible

I'm another one who forced my children into liking CP by running through the entire boxset on a trip to and around Cornwall. They now actually ask for it.

KingscoteStaff · 26/07/2020 09:58

Chief, I might be wrong, but...

I love Ipswich. And Gdansk. Less so Helsinki, except for Douglas trading up from a cheese sandwich.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/07/2020 10:35

Johannesburg tonight. Is that the one with One Man Went to Mow?

TakeMeToYourLiar · 26/07/2020 10:40

It is indeed,

Diego give me your Spanish cockerel

I think I could endure almost any hardship as long as I had the Bible and Shakespeare; Palgrave's Golden Treasury; and the sight of First Officer Douglas Richardson grumpily soaping a wheel arch.

Agree, except personally I would swap the palgrave

Enjoyed that. Lovely use of the classic comedy writer's device of setting something up early on, distracting the audience with all sorts of other things and then coming back to it at the end (as JF himself pointed out in his simultaneous tweeting last night). He says Kuala Lumpur is his least favourite episode. He may explain further next week, but I seem to recall reading one of his blog pieces about it a few years back. He is clearly a perfectionist!

TakeMeToYourLiar · 27/07/2020 10:06

Kuala Lumpur just doesn't make sense to me.

Was the bar always there and they were worried about Martin funding it? If not why suggest some where else for the "pilots lounge"

Having said that, Arthur bring all the passengers is just hysterically funny

KingscoteStaff · 27/07/2020 10:24

SIMULTANEOUS TWEETING?

No one tells me anything...

I don't understand the question? I think the bar was indeed always there and they just never told Martin about it. When they moved it elsewhere, it was partly to exclude him and partly for the reason Douglas gave, i.e. that they'd got themselves stuck with him thinking they wanted him there but actually hating it.
