The Christchurch Murder was excellent in a thoroughly disturbing kind of way - I actually had to remain housebound to catch the end of it!

I also heard the first bit of Nights at the Circus which sounded it like it was shaping up to be equally good - I’ve just grabbed it on iPlayer to listen to later.

Just listening to The Bloody Chamber just now. Must catch the ones you mention.

I heard The Bloody Chamber today - I really liked the dreamlike/nightmarish quality of the adaptation. Really enjoyable. I assume they're not doing the entire book, just a selection (5?) of the stories. I just took a look and apparently R4 have broadcast Wild Children previously. Wish I'd heard that now.

Just listening to The Bloody Chamber just now. Hadn't spotted that one, thanks - back to iPlayer!

Just discovered there’s some on R3 too - An Evenign with Angel Carter, which is two plays rather than what I expected to be an interview.

I’ve listened to all of the Bloody Chamber episodes now - I thought they were quite startlingly good. The sounds and music too and I’m normally oblivious to anything but the voices. It’s made me want to read them and think about them.

Both productions reminded me how much more engaging I find radio (and reading) because you create the images in your head. I was talking to a friend about this and then today listened to Writing in Three Dimensions: Angela Carter’s Love Affair Woth Radio (broadcast in 2012 but still on iPlayer) and she says she considers radio to the the most visual medium precisely because of that.

I’m really looking forward to the plays that were on Radio 3 now. Downloaded but not had a chance to listen yet.

I caught the second episode of Nights at the Circus today. Couple of rather clumsy insertions I thought - one being the Clinton reference - I did not have sexual relations with that woman - which seemed entirely at odds with the production given how Monica Lewimsky was so publicly shamed. But otherwise good.

Have also discovered a lot of her books are on audible.

They are fab stories. Good adaptations too.
