Why is Lillian allowing this to happen?

FFS Lil, he's just a bit on the side. If he pisses you off just bin him. Don't start sounding so downtrodden.

Bore: this was a fairly recent thing, after Ivy died. Tracy left Den and moved in with Susan&Neil until they foisted her off on Bert at No6 The Green. Tracy persuaded Bert to make her joint-tenant so that she would 'inherit' the house when he dies.

Useless fact: the actress that plays Tracy used to, many moons ago, play Kate!

olgaga · 11/06/2013 11:57

No it wouldn't on the face of it link Matt to Paul's death.

However it does link Lilian to Paul, and I'd be disappointed if it didn't get an airing somehow.

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/06/2013 12:15

Ah, thanks R4 - I vaguely recall that now. Didn't know about the Tracy/Kate thing though!

TallGiraffe · 11/06/2013 13:02

What is Matt going to do about the funeral? And will there not have to be a PM and inquest?

PigletJohn · 11/06/2013 13:06

I see the scriptwriters read my spoiler and have concocted an elaborate plot rewrite.

Somethingyesterday · 11/06/2013 13:19

Piglet Wink
Have faith. They're just going to make us wait...

Kiriwawa · 11/06/2013 13:21

I'm looking forward to the SWs shoehorning in some stuff about the situation in Turkey. Surely Matt&Lil won't be going now they've got the tear gas out in Istanbul?

Saker · 11/06/2013 15:21

On the Emma / Tracy front, I was amused that Tracy isn't considered good enough to clean for Peggy, but Peggy and Jennifer have no problem with her looking after a child.

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/06/2013 15:30

Yes, but it's not an Archer child Saker, just a rustic Grundy. So that's all right.

Arf at Somethingyesterday's description of Lillian's former idleness ... Grin

Somethingyesterday · 11/06/2013 23:09

Super Thank you!

Actually I didn't think of it as idleness, just her natural state in life. It was certainly more entertaining than endless meetings about kitchen fittings. And at least she seemed vaguely happy. Given the miserable origins of Amside it's not surprising that the whole business is exceedingly dreary to hear about.

It also seems that Grey Gables has effectively been written out of the show. (Is this because it was considered too "posh" like poor Nigel?) It's a pity because it was a major meeting point for the entire community - celebrators, employees, grandees, newbies - a counterpoint to the Bull; and without it the social melding of the village seems - I don't know the word - like rope shredded.

superfluouscurves · 12/06/2013 08:18

Yes, kitchen fittings extremely dull.

Agree idle wrong word. It takes quite a lot of energy to down all those g & ts and snaffle those slap-up lunches Smile. I would find it hard to keep up with L at her natural best!

Gigondas · 12/06/2013 10:20

Kitchen fittings better than Jd and Jim war of words and rapprochement or josh and his eggs.

ppeatfruit · 12/06/2013 11:54

That is a very good point about the 'children' getting hold of his mobile and what about the flat?

Brillig · 12/06/2013 15:25

IMHO Lilian being blasted by a water-cannon in Taksim Square would be just retribution for her stammering, stumbling, wailing, moaning and, most importantly, outrageously ripe performance over the last weeks ('naice' ham? I think not).

Sunny Ormonde gave her thoughts on playing the character in a webchat and I'm afraid I was immediately reminded of that Victoria Wood sketch where Bo Beaumont holds forth on the challenge of playing Mrs. Overall in Acorn Antiques...

Songbird · 12/06/2013 16:48

Brillig I couldn't agree more!! I thought nothing could be more annoying than the stammering but now we have The Gulpy Crying. Give me strength...

Lilymaid · 12/06/2013 16:56

"I'm looking forward to the SWs shoehorning in some stuff about the situation in Turkey"
Lillian mentioned this in an episode last wek.

Gigondas · 12/06/2013 16:57

The only gulping Lillian should do is gin IMHO.

Also are we going to have daryl mewing for next few weeks about departure of illona. Peggy likes her coffee with hot milk Ffs ( proof 10697 that Peggy is entitled).

That's a great bit of trivia.

ppeatfruit · 13/06/2013 13:41

Blimey Brillig 'Sunny Ormonde' I wonder if that's a made up name it's got to be Grin!! OMG her hamming it up was godawful; get over it Lil he was a psycho and you'd just about chucked him any way!!

BoreOfWhabylon · 13/06/2013 15:39

Ah yes, Brillig Sunny Ormonde and
