I can't believe we're into Thread 4! It's fab that so many are still playing 🥰

I object to one of the words. Would be interested to know what you think.

I agree - I know I’m new to this game but I really struggled today. I paused it twice and resorted to revealing a letter.

I don't think the word I'm thinking of is any sort of English (I'm not saying the word as you're all still in yesterday)

@Catullus5 the word beginning with C is of latin derivation and doesn't mean the same as the word beginning with k that you're probably thinking of.

I agree but I don't think it's properly a loan word into English. Leastways I doubt it's in common usage among English speakers who aren't also members of the Society of St Pius X

It was a completely different C-word that grabbed my attention in that game 🙈

Yes was the F- word that foxed / annoyed me because of the cross-Atlantic spelling. I can't remember what the C- word was now !

@PickAChew I did Latin A level but never knew it could be used in English in that sense!

It's mostly in legal and medical use. We definitely don't refer to a bump on the caput! (though we might put a cap on it)

Fetal tripped me up because I simply don't see American spellings unless I'm consciously looking for them.

Caput isn't in any legal use I know.

I think fetal has become accepted use where I am. I 'spotted' it without thinking it was American English.
