Things like using a letter to start a word, when I'd already used that letter to start a word. Using a letter in a position where I already knew/ should have noticed that the letter was incorrect, from a previous turn. Laziness and lack of attention to detail. Done it again this morning.

This is me too! If I have used a letter to start a word and it had no hits, then I don't really remember, and will probably try it again. I frequently run out of guesses altogether.
I think that you should not be so hard on yourself 😊
