Can anyone reccomend a parent facing, lie flat pushchair...? Emmaljunga or Babystyle Lux??

Morning ladies,

Due to my, err, little problem we are already the proud owners of 2 pushchairs and DD is only 4 and a bit months old.

We have the obligatory all singing all dancing travel systen (Quinny Buzz - obviously sucked into the 1st time parent trap, what a bloody waste of money), and a Phil and Teds Sport that I bought off a friend cheaply that has been fab for holidays and off-roading.

Was worried that I'd have to wait until I genuinely needed a stroller before I could convince hubby to let me buy another one but, hurrah, realised yesterday that my mum 'needs' a puschair for when she has LO (2 days a week when I go back to work).

So the brief is:

• parent facing
• can be laid completely flat for naps
• needs to be roomy as DD is already a big girl
• height adjustable handle
• decent sized shopping basket
• doesn't really matter about size/weight but sturdy looking wins - mum is a bit old fashioned like that

The 2 that seem to fit the bill are a couple off the Emmaljunga website and maybe the Babystyle Lux - any ideas/reviews???

a teutonia? we have the spirit s3 for ds who is over 2 and super tall. have used it from birth with the fashion carrycot and love it! we looked at the emmaljunga when i was pg but dp wanted a 3 wheeler. i know how hard it is to choose one, i spent over 16 weeks looking for the right one! we'll hopefully be getting a double teutonia later this year!

I had a babystyle lux when I had DS1 and I loved it. It lasted for both DS1+2. I loved that pram

I had a Silver Cross that did this and was lovely.

I've got a mamas and papas mpx 3 in 1 if you are interested, its vertical colourway, seat unit faces forwards or backwards, comes with car seat and base. Its in really really good condition, no marks on fabrics, minimal wear to wheels.

If mrs scott isn't interested I am very much so (price permitting) - what were you looking for it? And is it foldable in the rear facing position?

I'm afraid you have to take the seat off to fold rearward, not sure about forward. If you just wanted the pushchair, I would let it go for £120 inc post, its had about 3 months use, pet and smoke free.

ooh no... I got all excited, I need it to fold in the rear position - speed is essential on the buses round our way or they leave without you!

Another vote for babystyle lux - i had one for DD and loved it! Had the metal frame with tyres (still have it actually and still use it on occasion and DD is 2.6)
Its fab for walking, easy to push, goes up and down kerbs easily, just bounces over! the suspencion on it is great! Huge big shopping basket that doesnt drop down like the fabric ones - when i didnt drive i could fit a whole weeks shopping on it no problem! Can switch forward facing or rear facing no problem!

Also ajustable handle, lies totally flat, very comfy and sturdy and traditional looking! Its a winner if youre not fussed about size and weight! (Light to push but not to carry)

Have to say girls, from what you've said so far it looks like babystyle lux is winning, just need to track one down on ebay now. Seems to be massive disparity in prices...

Mutsy 4Rider light. Can be found at bargainous prices on ebay sometimes - really great quality - easy to push - adjustable handle - can face you and.... you can buy a mutsy basket that clips to frame under seat - (in addition to the standard one at the base of the chassis), and it says "go ahead put up to 10kg in here" in the instructions - Not many prams around that can say that!!!

This additional basket thing - can also be removed (while filled) and carried with it's own handle - so fab for carting stuff in and out the house/car from pram.

The basket thing is fab. I've 4 kids, tried lots of Prams and we love this one. Ds 2y is relaxing in his now. I lined it with a lambskin from [www.pushchairs.co.uk] which just adds extra luxury for him.
It's really easy to switch the seat around and you can get a "fun seat" later on, which makes it like a push along trike only better because having a proper pushchair chassis it can actually be pushed easily and in comfort and baby is safely strapped in that bit higher up.

You can also put the hood or sun canopy from the main seat into the fun seat for sun/rain protection if needed.
The fun seat is designed so if you're at the beach and your baby is hopping on and off, getting it covered in sand and icecream you can just hose it clean after. A really good solid but not too heavy luxury keeping your babe in comfort and style pram. Very practical to use. Think it's made in holland. Really well made. X

I guess because it's not in mothercare it's not so well known.
Mutsy at the Oxford Pram Center is a good website to view to see all the bits and pieces you can buy.
I got a tray for mine - you just pop the bumper bar out and fit the tray - perfect for dinner on the go - or my 2y old son likes to sit and crayon as we go along - or run his car on the tray - or use lego on it - it's well worth the £14 for the tray!
Tray It doesn't look much on the picture - but its fab - not a skinny drink holder tray like most prams have - but a proper dinner tray!

The mutsy raincover is the best made raincover I've ever laid eyes on - great value (when you consider other companies charge the same for something that much less effort and design has gone into)!

Yes - pass the P&T on to someone else to try (I hated my P&T - was rubbish to push - shodily made and flimsy In my opninon).

ummm, no - it can't fold with seat rear facing sorry. (

You have to face the seat away, but, it will stand on it's end - if that helps!? Also all 4 wheels are quick release to make it a more compact package

If you are near this pram on ebaysilver cross wayfarer it will probably do all you want it to. Looks very well cared for - in good nick - looking at the photo's.
Bargain price too (If you can collect that is).
This will fold with seat rear facing - well - you just flip the seat - rather than removing it - to fold.
(I quite like the retro print too!).

I am sure I used to fold my Mutsy with the seat in rear position - yeah I did for sure as never even used it forward facing! I hated the raincover though, loved the design but when pushchair was in RF it never ever fitted properly IMO

Hmm, which chassis did you have on your Mutsy? I've not been successful folding mine with seat rear facing. Off to try again! It also says on the fun seat you can fold the chassis with it on, but i can't. I have the 4rider light chassis. Wonder if it only folds on the urban rider chassis.

Okay it sort of folds rear facing, but not very compact. Seat back is at a bit of an angle, not flush with chassis. Would be okay for car boot i suppose, but not on the bus!
