Or do you think it's the same as the car seat rules that they should always be new ?

i cant see as how it could be
im pretty sure the base can be secondhand

the seat too if youre SURE its never been in a crash (if you know the person who had it REALLY well, youd know that, wouldnt you.)

I've bought the seat new because i always worry about them being dropped as much as in an accident, but the base i guess doesn't move once installed.
I'd be buying from ebay unless somebody on here is selling one, might go and enquire, thanks for replying.

I wouldn't. I would always buy a new car seat and anything associated with it. It's just not worth the risk in my opinion.

i bought mine new from kiddicare as tbh i wouldnt buy second hand and they were not that much dearer new than they were selling second hand on ebay hth

The same rules apply to a base with regards to being in an accident. As you say it is more likely to not get dropped etc like a car seat that is moved daily but if you are buying from someone you don't know you can't guarantee the history.
