Maclaren Volo for 8 month old?

We were looking for a cheap buggy to take abroad for a wedding in August by which time DS will be 8 months old.

DH was browsing on ebay and next thing I know, he's won one! As you can see in title, it is a Maclaren Volo, all for the grand sum of £12.74! I have to go and pick it up this week. But now I am having wobbles as I see it doesn't recline and I expect that DS will still be having naps at that point and we are likely to be out all day, especially the day of the wedding.

WWYD? Should I stick with it or keep my eyes peeled for something which reclines? I will still pick it up either way and if we do get something else, then decide what to do with it.

Poor DH, he is so proud of himself

I think volos are a fantastic lightweight buggy. They are lovely to push, but like you although ds2 did go in one at 8 mo it was only if I knew he wouldn't be having a sleep.

Your DP has made an excellent choice and the volo will be great when he is a toddler, but I think that you really would be better getting one that reclines if ds is going to be sleeping in it quite a bit.

If you want to stick with a Maclaren look at triumphs and quests.

i wouldn't personally put an 8mo in a volo. the seat is very sling like and so offers little support think an 8mo would be v.slumped in one? also no leg rest. Hood is better tho as bigger than the quest/triumph. i would go either for quest or xt for that age.

Thanks both

Back to the drawing board (well, ebay!) then, DH will be gutted!

I have a volvo sitting in the car, only use it if I have to do a dash from the car to school quickly. I wouldn't put my lo in it for a long walk or for it to go to sleep, as it is really uncomfortable for that. Great if they are older, and you want something to get them on a busy bus journey. If you want something light go for another maclaren.
