Anyone in Manchester near the M&S?

Not sure where I should post something like this, so picked the section I most often read/post on...

Not buggy-related... but would really appreciate help with this, if anyone's willing

I was placing an order on M&S for a dress and in the middle of the payment process, it said that the dress is no longer available - really disappointing. I called them and they said that the Manchester M&S still have my size, however the store manager doesn't post products :S. If I reserve it, would anyone be willing to pick up the dress and send it to London?! Or is that a totally inappropriate/unrealistic thing to ask?

I dont think its unreasonable, and if it were the m&s in my home town, I would gladly do it, but I'm not in manchester I'm afraid.

M&S posted suit trousers for me. I just paid postage. I would call again and ask.

I've called them again and they said that they absolutely don't do postals , not to a home address not to another store
So no one close by willing to do this?!

Have you tried going into your local M&S and asking them to phone the Manchester store? I used to work in M&S while at uni and I'm pretty sure we did interstore transfers - although that might have changed after all this time!!

Unfortunately, the dress turned out to be very popular and is now out of stock in that store as well .

I work in M&S and it's up to each store to decide if they'll post. It is abused by so many 'customers' who claim their goods have not arrived that some stores don't think it's worth the hassle and expense. Often the decision comes down to how close the post office is.

ah what a shame - well you can check stockport too, I can get there in a jiffy or jut let me know if it comes back in!

M&S posted something for me once, I think it came from a store down south (I'm near Stockport). I could get to the Handforth store next week if that's any use.
