Maclaren or Babyjogger City Mini?

I'd like to buy a second pushchair for using on public transport, for travel and for my mother-in-law to use when she looks after ds (5 months). We have an iCandy Cherry as our main travel system which I really love.
I'm looking at Maclarens which seem to be the ubiquitous option and also a Babyjogger City Mini which seems to have some advantages like the cool fold and the way you can push it one handed. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks very much.

What sort of public transport will you be using? Single-handled pushchairs are not good on an escalator. I loved my City Mini to bits, but I use an old Volo (which I hate pushing) if I'm going on the tube.

I'm quite anti Maclarens because you have to use both hands to push, and keep them in the same position. I find that I get shoulder and back ache from it. With a single-handled pushchair I can use either hand or both, and in different positions so I can change around to stop spasms from setting in.

With a two-handled Maclaren type pushchair you can stand between the handles and closer to the pushchair's centre of gravity, plus a Maclaren has a shorter distance between the front and back wheels so it doesn't tilt backwards as much going up.

I just felt quite off-balance with the City Mini. Especially going up because the length of the wheel base was wrong for a tube escalator, when the front wheel was wedged up against the stair in front of it the back wheels were right at the back of their step so any backward movement at all would have led to trouble.

The trouble with the tube is even where there is a lift you can't be sure that it will definitely be working so you always have to be prepared for the possiblity of needing to use the escalator.
