So tell me about the Quinny Buzz

My dear fellow MNer's,

Lets face it, no one can tell you about a pram better than those who've used them.

So tell me about the Quinny Buzz, namely how you find using it? Is it able to fit in a small boot and would you recomend it to people?

ooh my.. deffo wouldn't recommend..not for long term use anyway. but it was nice for the first few months of baby's life. i had the 3 wheeler one, and only kept mine for 5months. used it with carrycot and carseat.. it's a fiddly (massive) fold and takes up a good chunk of the car boot..- you need two hands and a LOT of strength to fold it cos of it hydraulic thingie. but its fab to unfold- just a 'kick' to gerrit going. if only the folding down was as easy!..fiddly if you're in a rush cos the seat units have to come off to fold, carry cot was lovely and spacious and i liked looking at myself pushing the buggy in shop windows. it's a pretty thing, but not practical. it had good suspension cos of the rear air tyres, but the wheel in front is too small and it was abit hard to get up kerbs..sometimes found it to be not as 'sturdy' as i'd like..tad difficult to even get it over my front door 'step'. i did like it, but was glad to get rid. got a baby jogger after and am full of praise of it..i have a collection of maclarens too which i love

Not owned one myself (I'm a quinny a freestyle kinda gal) but a friend has and she curses it. It is too small, the mechanism is unrealiable, the ride is very juddery and and and and and.... My freestyle on the other hand is, although massive and totally impractical for towns, fantastic for my life style i.e. lots of long walks over rough terrain. A top buy.

No to small boot
I have the 4 wheeler
Gets punctures which are a PITA
Wheels sounds creaky
Pain to store when folded even because of the weird chassis
I didn't use the dreami bit really as had another pram
Toddler outgrew the seat q quickly (he is not 2 yet)
So not entirely convinced

Can I balance this up with a positive review? I've used mine since my daughter was born, first with the carrycot and maxi cosi, and then with the seat unit. I love it! It can be folded with the seat on, but only when it's forward facing.
I have a huge boot, but have used it in my mum's car, a tiny Daewoo, and it fits in as you can take the seat and the large wheel's off easily.
My daughter is 2.6 now and is still really comfy and has lots of room in the seat, which is the XL one, and was sent to us free of charge. I have used lots of other pushchairs, as this was bought for my 3rd child and think it's fab, still much nicer to use than my other pushchair (a silvercross dazzle)
I have never had a puncture in the tyres, although it is used on all sorts of ground

Another no vote from me!

Big, difficult to fold (without giving yourself a hernia), too small for my toddler, footmuff thing was minute etc etc

However, my biggest annoyance was how easily the front wheel would become jammed with mud, dust, something or other and then it would be very pesky to steer. Steering it in shops quickly became a nightmare and the wheel would frequently get stuck at an angle going up a curb and I'd have to wrestle the thing to get it moving again.

Don't know if you can tell, but I think it's a very, very poor pram! I've just switched to a Phil and Ted's in anticipation of junior 2's arrival and it's a dream in comparison.

i have one and love mine,
my ds hated the carrycot,so ended up using the carseat on the chassis when he was little it was FAB like that, and from 4 months ish have been using it with the seat unit,i LOVE mine,i do find in some small shops it is a pain as the rearwheels are quite wide apart,but tbh i dont really use mine in any small shops so it doesnt bother me,i use mine for walking/taking the kids to the park and its fab.

I like mine but do agree with the comments above.

also, you can't recline the seat without taking it off alltogether, which is very annoying when a toddler falls asleep sitting in an upright position.

Hated mine, all the above points, heavy, bulky, very wide wheel base for getting around the shops and the front wheel would just notbloody turn, squeaky, ugly looking, rubbish storage, hideous to put in and out of a car boot, the list goes on and on. I loved how funky it looked but honestly was dreadful for the first day I used it and knew I should've bought the bugaboo (which I then still had to!!)

What do you mean you can't recline the seat without taking it off altogether? Course you can!

I love my Buzz, had the carrycot when DS was a baby and used it with the maxi cosi too. He's just turned 2 and in the XL seat now, and we just about managed to use the cosytoes through the very cold weather.

It wasn't easy to push on sand, long grass etc, but I don't need to very often so it's fine.

Oh, and, I have slime in the tyres and have never had a puncture.

I had one and I wouldn't recommend it. We had numerous punctures, the shopping basket is tiny and I had to contact Quinny for strap extenders as DS couldn't fit in it at only a year old! And very heavy and bulky and the raincover is hard to put on the carrycot.

We got rid of it when we bought a Phil & Teds as DS2 came along. Best thing we ever did! BTW the P&T can be used a single, I now use it like that for DS2 as DS1 walks everywhere. I'd recommend it 100%.

I'm obviously missing something here, I would love to know as it would make my life easier!

The 'button' things at the sides of the seat that you squeeze to lift the seat unit off, just squeeze them and recline the seat!

Or did I not understand what you were saying?

Love the quinny buzz - it's lightweight, never had a puncture and turns on a sixpence. Have a lot of buggies (er 7 , inc maclaren) and this is my fave.

Only problems are that it doesn't come with a shopping basket etc you have to buy all extras separately. There is a knack to collapsing it, but no more than any other pushchair. Really like the way that the seat unit can face forward and rear facing.

Wouldn't say it's an all terrain (it would be if the front wheels were like the back) but have negotiated grass and it's fine, though boggy ground, gravel or sand might stump it. But it's a good out and about buggy.

The cosytoes are good as well - very cosy and thick and great for very cold weather.

I have a very small boot, but it is easy to fit as the wheels just pop off.

Framey - it's easy to recline; just press the buttons down firmly and at the same time recline the seat

Another no from me. I've been through quite a few pushchairs and prams and although I love the seat being both front and rear facing and got quite a bit of use from the carrycot attachment the steering is awkward, the wheel base is too wide and as others have said the front wheel jams which is a complete pain.

sorry for hijacking thread, i will just say i love mine, the carrycot is a lot higher than loola, bugaboo etc, it will go in my sisters corsa boot if the wheels are off, its comfy for DS, at 2.2 he still loves being rearward facing so he can talk to me/DS1, it is wide though and has started to squeek, i dont think you can get a perfect pram though

light?its a wolloping @13kg bugaboo 9kg.doozey pram. only plus is looks aesthetically pleasing.functionally flawed.not fit for purpose

For the record, I do think it's a very comfy cosy buggy and looks good.

Hi MrsTicklemouse, I contacted Dorel who told me it needed to be requested through the retailer I bought it from, this was Kiddicare. I phoned them, and they sent one to me with no charge, it took a couple of weeks to get to me. I also had the strap extenders from them. It's got loads of room in it and would definately fit my daughter for another year at least.
