I'm allowed one pushchair for ever, what shall it be?

Dh fed up with comings and goings, and house ans wallet can't afford it anymore, so I need to get myself my one and only pushchair (bar the Phil and Teds as we still need a double).

Would normally go for an XT but not sure I can cope with the rubber handles and they're a bit too tall.

Wishes:

Umbrella folding
lie-flat
reasonable sized wheels to cope off road
clasp to keep secured when folded
pocket on back to keep bus pass etc in
decent sized seat as ds a monster
folds up relatively small

Got up to £200 to spend - bug bee also no good as nto big enough and not enough funds for a new plus

Thanks

Could you not use the P&T's as a single and buy yourself some shoes/handbag with the savings ?
It seems to tick all your boxes.

Unfortunately not as I get the bus a lot and we need one that folds up small to use for the nursery run

I'm not a shoes and handbags girl either, freakish I know

BJCM? not umbrella fold but still quite small and easy to fold for the bus

I'd 2nd the bjcm idea. Easier to fold one handed while holding baby. Quality and durable. Love ours.
Alternatively a Micralite fast fold. New ones out soon with improved recline.

I'd 3rd BJCM. Folds up and unfolds one handed. Has pocket for buspass/drink on the back and a big seat (we had our 3 yr old who is 112cm tall in it last week, and although his head was touching the hood, it was comfy seat wise)so easy to push and full recline.

The XT doesn't have rubber handles, is not too high either, I'm 5' 3'' and I find it fine!

Ticks all the boxes!

Baby jogger city mini this is a fab buggy it folds by pulling a handle on the seat so one handed, light easy to push won loads of awards.

Can't believe you're discounting the Maclaren XT on the basis of rubber handles! They're not. I've had one for 6 years and it's still going strong. It has everything on your list - you could always wear gloves!
Take a look at Maclaren Techno XT if you need more convincing.

Troubadour · 09/03/2010 11:33

It's not so easy to push a two handled buggy along while holding your toddlers hand as they walk a bit.
Seat of the maclaren techno xt is not as roomy as that of the bjcm. The pull out calf rest on the maclaren techno xt is not great either - flimsy and bends easily.
The hood on the maclaren techno xt is not so sturdy as that on the bjcm - and has very thin fabric on it.
basket under the mac is tiny compared to that on the bjcm - and the rear pocket on the bjcm is bigger and sturdier than the two tiny pockets on the rear of the maclaren xt hood.
On the upside - the maclaren xt has a very nice harness (although stiff to operate), and the silver trim the the mac xt handles is pretty.
BJCM is easy to push and steer one handed - whether loaded or empty - leaving the other hand free for your child - or even an umbrella!

You can add a bumper bar or play tray to the bjcm!
