big baby outgrown pram attachment advice needed

I bought a Silvercross travel system so that my baby could lie flat for (as recommended) the first 6 months. problem is he's nearly too big for this attachment at 3 months . Does anyone know which models have larger, flat pram attachments? Any suggestions much appreciated...

We had this problem too. In the end went straight to a hauck infinity at 3 months and just put him in the seat unit which does recline completely flat but their legs aren't flat because of the shape of the seat unit (if that makes any sense!) he was fine and seemed very comfy

dd lasted in hers till 5m (just!)

does the pushchaoir bit of the silver cross lie flat or nearly flat? if so switch and don't worry

This is a concern of mine, I have the m&p pramette, I think I'd just keep using it with legs hanging out rather than have the baby facing the other way so young.

I tried Ds in my frinds silver cross travel system at just over 8 weeks and he was pretty much too big for it.

I have the Britax Vigour 3+ which is parent facing and the seat unit lie's completely flat and is very spacious.

I had this with my Ds2. I had to switch him into the puschair seat led flat, with a sheepskin liner in it he was fine.

The only pram I can thin of that has a massive carrycot is the M&P Skate.

If your Silvercross seat bit lies flat and the leg rest is adjustable, your DS will be fine in that as well.

ConnorTraceptive · 08/02/2010 13:37

meant to say the infinity can be parent facing or front facing

imaginewittynamehere · 08/02/2010 14:34

Gosh the silvercross must be tiny. DD1 was huge & was in the bugaboo chameleon until 5.5 months. DD2 made it to 7 months+

Having said that as MrsBadger says try him in the seat unit - if it lies nearly flat he will be fine.

which Silver cross have you got hun? I've got a linear freeway and DS2 can still sleep lying down in it at 18months

xx

Thanks for all your suggestions!
Will check out the infinity and Britax.
He is a big baby - i.e. always in the 98%ile when he weighed. Will also have a mess around with the seat attachment tomorrow and see how far it reclines.
Its a 3d complete pram system - was fairly cheap - maybe this is why?!

Have seen a really good deal on the Maxi Cosi Mura 3 Inc baby carrier - anyone had one / know how big the baby carrier is?

I have the 3d pram system and the seat does lie completely flat, so he should be fine in that.

I managed to squeeze DD into the pram bit until 4months and she was also 98th centile. By 4 months she was keen to sit up and see a bit more so I didn't feel too bad about swapping her around. If he's still got a bit of room in there you might find he'll last longer than you think. As the weather gets a bit warmer he'll need less layers to keep him cosy so you might find he has a bit more room.
