Not a problem Dunoon, I just thought it was worth a mention to you as it came up the same time you were talking about the ebay one. We've had a very relaxing day, my Mum has had DS all day so DH (who is a bit poorly) and I have watched films all day and chilled out together, lovely!

Off to pick him up in an hour or so

Jan, are you around still? Found this on preloved, maybe worth you contacting them??

nicolamumof3 · 30/10/2009 17:37

oooh maxy im so jealous, i've been getting a bit peeved lately at the lack of family support i get with kids. My mum used to be fab but i think she even finds 3 boys hard work tbh. I really do desperately need a break from these boys. Real hard work atm.

Dunoon i know exactly how you feel, will you not be able to do xmas job this year? i quite fancy one too, but no childcare. Can't wait for return to normality next week i hate holidays.

maxybrown · 30/10/2009 17:48

Oh Nic I'm sure it damn well is! Pity we're not near each other? it is only the second day we have ever had away from him since he was born. Some people I know get lots of time out etc. We have never been out in an evening or anyone had him overnight though. Once mum had him so we could go to cinema one afternoon, then today lol! We live the high life we do

heya, do any of you have the bebecar vector duo?
or tried one?
or know anything about it??

i'd ordered this from america but they've put the release date back til the end of december and i really want a new pushchair NOW NOW NOW!

nicolamumof3 · 30/10/2009 17:55

my mum would have tom alot overnight and even Tate she's had luka twice i think, i do appreciate its alot to ask but just a few hours would really help she always says, you only need to ask but would be nice treat to be offered.

anyway booked a night away at spa hotel for dh's 40th next month where we stayed for wedding night, am soooooo excited. i might buy a new dress!!

pebbles79 · 30/10/2009 17:57

I know how you both feel, we don't get alot of family support either . My mum will occasionally take the kids overnight but she doesn't take them until about 6pm and wants them picked up by 11am the next day. By the time we drop them off and get home it's 7pm and it just seems like alot of effort with the overnight bags to get ready etc for the sake of a few hours.

FlyMeToDunoon · 30/10/2009 18:02

Not tried a bebecar vector duo sorry.

I am available for christmas M&S but they had nothing suitale for hours I could do ie 7.30-12.00 week nights and weekends all day.
I look at other shops for notices in the window and I got the courier today but there is not usually anything suitable.
My brain is numb from the ears up.Constant childcare and housework is doing it in. I have no family nearby. DP's mother and father are 2 hours and £40 worth of petrol away.
The Nipper went higher than I cared to pay so does anyone have a cheap cheap three wheeler for me. I'm talking £20 max here.

maxybrown · 30/10/2009 18:04

yeah I always see my friends down south on facebook out for the night and Grandma babysitting.

I can't imagine spending the night away from him. Not because I wouldn't (lol) just because I never have!

See you havn't posted your locks on your profile! My hair is really thick and wavy, so I might give it a go

maxybrown · 30/10/2009 19:11

Jan did you see the preloved link I posted for you above??

OP posts:
janx · 30/10/2009 19:58

hey maxy - not sure why that post appeared just now - i post it hours ago....just had a bit of a stressful time - dd had some friends around for a little halloween party - all fine, but the last little girl would not go - her dad was so ineffectual at putting his foot down and dd was getting more hyper and silly - its getting late and I want to put ds to bed and it went on and on -need some wine
Thanks re the buggy - what is preloved btw?

SpookyScattyKatty · 30/10/2009 20:33

Hmmmmm my earlier post didn't work Maxy I've never been away from DS for more than a few hours in 21 months months. Partly I do think I'm not keen on anyone having him overnight but mainly cos we don't live near family so I just never get the chance. Oh well!

Just taken DS to a Hallowe'en thing at a huge soft play, really packed but I LOVE Hallowe'en so I thought it was great

nicolamumof3 · 30/10/2009 20:47

theres nothing on hallowee'n for little ones here, its a shame as tate is quite into it. tbh theres nothing full stop for kids to do parties etc. shame.

SpookyScattyKatty · 30/10/2009 20:51

It was here

DH thought it was a rip off cos it's normally £2 but tonight was £4.25 and it was no different just played music and had less lights on

DS just loves the place though so worth it IMO.

Nicola, DS wore cords again today and a women actually came over to me in the park to say how nice they were! So thanks! Noone ever complements either of us here normally

nicolamumof3 · 30/10/2009 20:53

Thats lovely SK they are mega cute aren't they!!

that soft play is still cheap, ours is £4.95 each i think! expensive trip out for me all three boys when we go.

SpookyScattyKatty · 30/10/2009 20:56

I do love them, smell nice too!

It is cheap normally yes, a lot of people won't go from here as they say it's dirty but I think it's alright and for £2 I'm not going to complain

basl · 30/10/2009 21:01

Evening ladies, just reading about the child care front and it is so differnet for everyone. I am from a huge family but chose to have children later in life so i have done a huge stint of babysitting for sisters and friends. Now i have children it is a whole different ball game. My ds who is 13mths now is a handfull and nobody wants him to stay over. We have had all our relations stay over and i really get nipped they will not return the favour. However my mother and my fil are the best. Can you help i say and always a yes. I never get time alone with dh but that will be sorted soon.

Lady who sold me the luna has recieved it back and admitted to fault. She said shame you never sent it back for repair you would have recieved a brand new one back from mp. Dohh have i missed something. It was described as ex display immac new wheels. She has admitted problem with chassis but i am now out of pocket £17 can you believe i forgott to put the footmuff thingy in the box and had to pay sd. I will shut up now off to work. I agree a job outside family is so rewarding but ssssoooooo stressfull.

carrielou2007 · 30/10/2009 21:34

Evening all, still don't like this layout.

I don't have any help but I have my wonderful CM 3 days a week whilst I'm a work so I very lucky that I'm itching to see dd the rest of the time. I won't allow dd's dad to have her overnight, his house is not suitable as it still looks like a buildng site as he is fixing it up. Anytime he wants her overnight he stays in the spare room here. I have only ever spent one night away from dd and that was a work conference.

Got my denim switch today, it's lovely so need to shift the other one and prammette.

TheDevilsKnickers0nMaHead · 30/10/2009 21:39

Nicola, have you still got these please?

£6 del for duvet which is absolutely pristine not a mark on it!

£5 for each duvet set

or will do all for £12 posted

nicolamumof3 · 30/10/2009 21:48

sorry knickers whole lot now sold im afraid.

will you have board for dd carrielou?

5inthetomb · 30/10/2009 21:56

Basl, I often forget to include the raincover when I post prams and end up having to post recorded delivery.

I've been so ill the past few days. Still got that awful bug. Feeling better today though, even managed to go to York with the ids and DH.

We are taking the kids to this tomorrow night. Bought DS2 some ear protectors though as he doesn't do loud noises.

I hate asking people to watch my DC as usually I have to split them up, and pay people. The MIL used to have DS1 every weekend, but she is now to old and haggard to watch him overnight, even though he is no bother, so he doesn't stop. And nobody will watch DS2

Hate this new layout!

nicolamumof3 · 30/10/2009 21:59

oooh 5in sorry you're still poorly sounds awful.

fireworks sound fab, we are all going fireworks next saturday can't wait. DH is working such long hours atm...really missing him, and lonely role on sunday as i've barely seen him this week.

5inthetomb · 30/10/2009 22:05

Been in bed by 5 most days Nicola. Luckily DH is off this week, otherwise I'd be screwed.

Hope your DH has some time off soon. Always harder during the school hols. At least its only one week this time though.

nicolamumof3 · 30/10/2009 22:10

yes all back on monday i can't wait, i miss my routine and tbh boys do too! luka starts extra morning at nursery too and tate starts back swimming lessons after his op. supposed to get much colder next week too, and i still haven't got my apples buggysnuggle!!
