Greetings
In my John Lewis nursery booking appointment haze, I bought the Bugaboo Donkey 5.
Big mistake. HUGE.
It’s really jeffing big and can only fit through the left hand door of a black cab and you can forget the front entrance of a London bus.
I’ve tried to make it work, but it’s just such a dampener. I love the look and feel of the Fox Renew - the toddler seat (baby is now 6 months) especially is nice and high and I’ve got a big baby boy, so the heftier seat makes me feel he’s comfortable. The bassinet looks fine (albeit that won’t come into play until the second comes along down the line).
Once baby is at nursery, I’d need to use a single decker London bus. The Fox would need to use the side doors, the Dragonfly will fit through the front door so getting off and on and tapping in (and beating buggy queues at nursery pick up) would be easier. The Dragonfly isn’t as aesthetically nice to me and feels flimsier/like a travel pram (but weirdly for not much cheaper than the Fox).
Price isn’t a factor. How the pram works to get around town, how adaptable it is once baby is 2-3 and there’s a new baby is. I figure I can sell the Donkey and chuck a ride-on board on a new pram for No 2 (Fox can definitely handle that…Dragonfly is already long). Whatever pram I go with has to be reliable and stable enough (physically as well as in my own mind/gut) to hold a baby whilst I’m also wrangling a toddler on board a bus/down a street, however.
We have a huge boot so shoving it in our own car isn’t an issue (albeit I would never drive the nursery run).
Because I went insane on accessories, I’d like to stick with Bugaboo so it’s down to these 2. Any experience or opinions, please? I’ve driven myself insane trying to decide and not wanting to get another pram I end up resenting.
