Double pram for soon to be 4 and 2 year old

Does anyone have any experience in using a side-by-side double pram with a 4 and 2 year old?

I need to purchase one to go on holiday with and I’m stuck between buying a side-by-side pram or just buying another single pram (such as Silver Cross Pop - which I already have 1 of).

My 4 year old is good at walking a lot but I would like to have something for him to sit in potentially during evenings whilst on holiday.

Side by sides tend to have quite narrow seats otherwise they won't fit through some doors. I'm not sure a 4 year old would even fit in one.

Buggy board? A four year old can sit at the table or on laps in the evenings surely.

I find 2 buggies easier tbh! Just get a stroller for the 4 year old. You only need to take it out when you need and not all the time

I second this. You can even get buggy board with little seats on if they don't want to stand

im not the buggy police but it would be a big purchase for a product that is very chunky and inconvenient, for a kid that will not really need it and will not het much use out of it.
doubles are great but they’re more of a necessity purchase for when you have a baby and a toddler. They take up the pavement, there’s no where to put them in cafes and restaurants. They don’t fit in all doorways and you can’t always get them down supermarket checkouts. i used mine loads a couple of years ago because my kids where little. My four year old would probably sit in one now for a couple mins for the novelty and comedy factor but they’d obviously want to sit at the table.
a buggy board on your existing pram could work and some even come with a seat. You’d get a lot more longevity out of that purchase

Our buggy board is amazing have to say! My toddler has mastered how to even take a Power Nap sitting on the buggy board with her head against a he buggy for support 🤪

if she gets super tired we just swap and let her nap in buggy and have a carrier for the bigger one

We used 2 singles for a similar situation, though that only works if you have 2 adults available all the time. Buggy boards weren't ideal even with a seat (my eldest would nap after a busy day out, and after a night flight).

We had a silvercross pop. Great buggy.

Use that with a buggy board.

I’m assuming that you mean something the 4 year old can sit in if they get tired in the evening and potentially fall asleep in so you don’t have to go back to the room early? If so just buy a cheap one rather than a double buggy, it will get thrown around during baggage handling so you don’t want to spend loads.
