Bebe Motion Website - prices too good to be true?

Hi All,

Looking for some advice as a first time parent-to-be.

When looking for a travel system, I came across the website bebemotion.com. I’m looking for a good deal on the Bugaboo Fox 5 ultimate bundle. This website is listing it for €1450 (approx £1230), with free delivery to the UK. This is an incredible deal as UK retailers are selling for £1700-1900.

Has anyone had any experience with this retailer? No online reviews available, however the company have been very responsive to my email queries.

All advice very much appreciated.

they're Spanish prices in euro and you’ll pay import duties (amount unknown)
you need to convert euro to pounds
i wouldnt make a big purchase from a European retailer I’ve never heard of

Hi,

I am looking to purchase the same travel system for my daughter. From what I can gather, there would be 20% VAT to pay if importing goods from the EU.

So if the price is £1230, the VAT would be £246, Total £1476 which is still a good price.

It's not always easy to tell the legitimacy of retail websites. A good way to find out is to ask questions or call them. Make sure you pay by credit card to get protection.

Update: Bebemotion replied to my email within an hour and were very helpful. My only reservation would be that if anything needs to be returned I don't know if the import VAT can be reclaimed and return shipping costs are not covered.

Best price for a UK store I could find was £1589 from Lesters Nurseryworld. They have welcome 10% discount, but it is not valid for this item unfortunately.

Thanks for your reply.

Agree. I sent them multiple messages via the chat box and they replied within minutes, so very responsive. In answer to my question on custom duties, they also stated that there are no customs duties on the items they sell owing to the trade agreement between the UK and the EU.

All things considered, approx £113 difference between their price and Lesters Nurseryworld isn't bad at all... particularly for the peace of mind that ordering from a well established and known company brings. I did call Lesters Nurseryworld about their deals - they can also add a Bugaboo organiser bag RRP £50 (looks similar to a belt bag) to the ultimate bundle at no extra charge.

I appreciate this perspective you have contributed, and the reasons you list are precisely why I decided to ask for advice on this platform. Hence my caution! It seems there are deals nearly as good closer to home so this seems a safer option.

Bebemotion is a fraud site. I ordered UPPAbaby Vista V2 and 3 months passed no delivery. They use wise for money transfer so my bank didn't return my money either. I reported to police. Don't deceive to prices. Buy from trusted sites
