Light coloured prams - are they to be avoided?

Hi ladies :)

I am pregnant with my first and have fallen in love with the Ocarro Everest. However, I am a little worried about how light it is in colour. It says everything apart from the hood can come off and go in the washing machine but would I be crazy to go for something that could easily get marked/generally grubby? I just don't really need something else to have to be careful about and I don't want to spend a lot of money on something that could very quickly look like a dirty mess lol.

Does anyone have a light coloured pram and either regrets it or has found it cleanable with no problems?

Thanks in advance for your help :) x

I think black and dark grey seem the most practical, although I spotted the iCandy Peach in 'cookie' and it's gorgeous but so light, I don't think I could consider it. I have seen lots of second hand darker prams that have faded and look a bit crap so maybe lighter could be better.

@Piapea thank you for your reply 🙂 that is a very good point about really dark colours fading! My sister also said black could show up lighter marks like vanilla ice cream which is a good point too 😆 maybe a mid grey is the way to go 🤔 x

My friend has a cream coloured seat in her oyster. It is absolutely filthy. Darker is much more practical.

My pram is a beige colour and I have no issues! I love it. I occasionally give it a wipe down after muddy forest walks but I’d imagine I’d be doing that even if it was a dark colour

I fell in love with a light coloured pram and bought it (when pregnant with my first). Don't do it! Definitely buy black or a dark colour. It ended up absolutely filthy and the stains wouldn't come out.

I'm sleep deprived and read the title as light coloured "prawns" thinking well there's always a risk with seafood in pregnancy....oh dear and I've got work in less than an hour 😭

But if you buy black/grey, make sure you put sun cream on with baby OUTSIDE the pram. I stained the straps of my black pushchair on first use with bastard sun cream.

Oooo lots of fab nuggets of wisdom here, thanks all! Think I will go for the Phantom instead 🙂 x
