Mountain buggy duet vs Uppababy Vista

I’m struggling to decide what double buggy to buy. I have a 20 month old and 2 month old. Does anyone have any thoughts on how the Mountai Buggy duet and Uppababy baby vista compare?

I like the idea of a side by side buggy as I don’t like the idea of my children being so close to the ground but noticed the Vista is much lighter than the Mountai Buggy duet. We have about 5 stairs I need to bump up and down to get into the house. Is the Mountain Buggy duet too heavy to bump up and down steps?

We live in London so we need something that will work on trains and buses.

Thanks!

Mountain Buggy, hands down. It fits through every doorway, which can't be said of many double buggies! My friend has recently sold her Uppababy and swapped it for the MB, after comparing it with mine. It's not the lightest, but it's fine. I'm a proper weakling and have no problems lifting it. It even fits in the boot of my VW Polo!

Thank you super helpful! Have you every bumped it down stairs?

Yup, mountain buggy duet. Get the air-filled tyres then it’ll be easier to do it on your stairs. Best pram/buggy ever.

I can't comment on those two, but I have the out n about nipper double and I would 100% recommend that! I have a 2.5 year old and a 5 months old and it's the best buggy we had (and we've gone through quite a few). I bought it secondhand from marketplace.

If you plan on using the double mode for a long period of time, I’d definitely recommend a side by side. The Uppababy Vista is a fantastic single stroller and while the double mode can get you though a bit of a pinch point, I wouldn’t recommend it for a long period of time. As with all front loaded tandem models it gets a get unwieldy and more difficult to tip and steer, due to the additional seat.

Thanks all super helpful feedback. I think I’ll go with the Mountain Buggy duet

I adore my vista as a single, it's the best thing we bought. I HATE it as a double, steers like a bus and so so heavy. We have an out n about double which is much better.

I really love our Mountain Buggy Duet. It really is the best double pram/buggy. I recently purchased the Mountain Buggy Nano Duo to use as our travel buggy.

Our vista has been great but now it's so unwieldy to steer and never use without my partner. I'm thinking of getting the mountain buggy.

I’ve got the duet. Absolutely love it.

will be selling it shortly though as DS is 3.5 now and just going to get a single and a buggy board.

Mountain Buggy sounds great. Just to double check before I make a final decision, is it better than the iCandy peach too? I saw a double iCandy peach at the park and it looked pretty good as well

Ive got the peach and the duet (both 2nd hand)
I preferred the peach at first as the older one kept poking the baby, it takes up way less room,is lighter to put in the boot (the duet is too heavy to get in the boot)
But when the eldest turned 3 i changed to the duet and really liked it as i can carry bikes/scooters and have the older one walk but he can sit in if needed. Plus the little one wont sit in the pushchair if the older one doesnt so i often coax thr plder one in!

I wish I had listened to everyone who suggested a mountain buggy duet for me first time round rather than go through others and eventually buy one. A bloody wonderful double! Fits in most doorways, no one close to the ground, kids side by side. Pushes like a dream! I was in London too and able to go everywhere. Stairs are difficult of course but so are they with other buggies. I still see people in the street with them now and want to congratulate them on their choice. Yes o am that sad! Love it though.

I’ve posted on here a few times to rave about my MB duet which I sold on eBay for almost new price as they were so sought after then due to waiting list. You will not regret it…it goes through normal single doors yet the perfect double. Miss it more than I miss the young children phase! It’s very light too.
