Should I buy the icandy peach or egg2?

Hi- would love some help please
We have been going back and forth with pushchairs and which to buy. We have narrowed it down to the icandy peach or egg2
We will use it mainly on gravel roads and so require large wheels and for it to be sturdy
We have seen peach has more storage space but egg2 feels more compact- possibly easier to move through tighter areas
Any feedback would be great from anyone who has had the same dilemma or is using either of the pushchairs
Many thanks in advance

No suggestions I'm afraid OP but I'm watching with interest.

I have the latest model icandy peach. It's quite bulky and fiddly although my dd is very comfortable in it and it feels very sturdy and easy to manoeuvre. The basket is very handy for shopping

I read on a Facebook page the other day that the egg has a tiny carrycot that’s outgrown in no time at all.. someone’s 4 month old was too big for it at an average size!

I got a Vennici travel system that I absolutely adored, the frame was light, carrycot was big, wheels were all terrain and we took it on the beach with no issues, the suspension is just dreamy.

My only peeve was the straps on the ‘big seat’ are weird.. they tighten as you lie the child down on the seat so if the straps already snug it becomes extra snug when led down.

I’m expecting another now so looking at double prams and have looked at the egg but was put off by the carrycot size; I’ve also looked at the iCandy which I think is taking the cake so far!

The egg2 has a big carrier than the egg anyways but we were worried about the egg being on the small size and were also weighing up between icandy and egg. We went to an excellent pram shop and when comparing the actual mattress sizes between the two there was barely any difference so I wouldn't worry about size x

How about the cybex Priam as alternative to both of those?

RPS19 · 20/09/2021 22:56

Thanks so much for all your responses
Vennici sounds great - we’ve just taken so long to narrow it down to these two I can’t imagine adding another in to the mix !!! Have the same thoughts with the Cybex which also looks great
Still no decision on our end- on to another weekend of test driving…!

I don't have the egg2 but do have the original egg pushchair. I love it, it's very compact, easy to move around tight spaces and have fitted it on crowded public transport even in tandem mode. My dd was in the carry cot until 7/8 months old as she occasionally slept in it if we stayed at relatives. Ds was in it until 6 months old. We live in a village and often walk to the next village to see the farm animals, the pushchair copes well on the rough terrain. We've even used it through the local forest as well. Hope this helps somewhat

I am in the same situation as you having ruled out other brands now (Cybex, Anex and Mamas & Papas), and down to either the Egg2 Quartz or iCandy Peach in Phantom dark grey twill. I keep going back to the Egg2... have you made your mind up? The lead times on the Egg are quite long, so early ordering is probably sensible.

Colinthecaterpillar35 · 28/09/2021 13:13

We too had narrowed it down to the iCandy Peach and the Egg2 but have ordered the Egg2. The factors that swayed us towards the Egg2 over the iCandy Peach were:

Egg2 is much easier (in my opinion) to remove the carrycot

The handle on the Egg2 comes up a bit higher than on the iCandy Peach which was better for me as I felt it was more comfortable (I'm 5ft7)

Can't wait for it to arrive!!

RPS19 · 28/09/2021 17:31

Stormelf thank you! This was really useful.

Boxinell I think we are in the same position. But finally decided yesterday after a long discussion that we are going for the egg2.

Colinthecaterpillar35 we completely agree! The carrycot is much easier to take off and I also find the folding mechanism easier.

Now it’s all about the colour!! We are now deciding between Just Black or Quartz. Any opinions?

@RPS19 good choice! We have gone for the just black because we were originally going to get the i candy peach cerium which is all in black. We thought black was a good choice to hide any potential marks!

RPS19 · 30/09/2021 12:30

Aww amazing! The matching changing bag is also beautiful in the Just Black.

I would have said Quartz two days ago, for sure. But I quite like the
Olive and Feather now!! Both are a bit different, but neutral without being over the top. Dilemmas!! Have you decided?

RPS19 · 23/10/2021 22:08

I know, all the colours are lovely so it was a difficult decision to make. Our Just Black arrived today! Smile

@Colinthecaterpillar35 @RPS19 I know this is an old thread but we've just gone to look at travel systems and was wondering how you are both getting on with the Egg? I really loved how easy it was to fold down but am worried about the carrycot size.

Colinthecaterpillar35 · 15/01/2022 17:55

@GrowBabyGrow I love the egg so far! Super easy to fold down as you say and super easy to release the carry cot from the base. It's really sturdy too and well built compared to a lot of others we tried which is why chose it.

Are you worried the carry cot is too small? I can't really comment on this because I don't have anything to compare it to, sorry! Our boy is only 7 weeks at the moment so still lots of space in there for him. I wouldn't let this out you off.

The only negative I have found is that it is difficult to release the car seat from the base if you're doing it on your own - you have to push both sides in at the same time whilst also lifting the seat up at the same time - it's like you need 3 hands. This is with the Cybex car seat though so it might be much easier if you have the actual egg car seat... we just went for the Cybex as we wanted one that rotates on the isofix base and the egg seat doesn't.

Hope this helps!!

GrowBabyGrow · 15/01/2022 18:13

@Colinthecaterpillar35 thank you! This is really helpful. I'll have a practice at taking a car seat on and off next time we look to see how I go with it. Good to hear your little one has lots of growing room in it too 🙂

RPS19 · 23/01/2022 13:57

@GrowBabyGrow
Sorry for the late response. We are getting on well with the Egg. The folding mechanism works well when we’ve used it. The carry cot size we also can’t comment on as yet- our little girl is just 8 weeks.
Overall it suits us well, we are using it mostly to walk in the surrounding areas of our home. We rarely take the pram out in the car. When we have done I’ve noticed it is quite heavy. I agree with @Colinthecaterpillar35 - the car seat is so difficult to take out of the adaptors - a two person job! We have the maxi cosi 360. The only other aspect which isn’t ideal is folding the hood of the carry cot. Pressing both buttons on each side whilst pushing the hood up or down is a little difficult.
Other than these aspects, the pram is great- very sturdy, warm/cosy and comfortable for our little one, easy to manoeuvre.
Good luck with your choice!!!
