Previously had a baby jogger city mini gt and it was great. We used the gt with a buggy board for our two kids. My kids are the same age gap for this new baby (newborn and just turned 3 - 6yo obviously doesn’t need buggy) but this time we bought the baby jogger summit due to the huge wheels (love hikes and beach trips) and the wheels and huge sun canopy are the only good things about it. It doesn’t fit easily through our doors, the buggy board doesn’t fit, and the fold is a hassle and while not a deal breaker the push handle doesn’t adjust.
We are/try to be an active family so it’s often the case that I leave the house early with the buggy packed to the brim with supplies for the day (food, waterproofs etc as I don’t drive and we go on all weather DS) and go on long hikes through country or treks across town until heading back before bedtime. The pram is a weather proof refuge for the youngest one, second youngest semi protected by worst of weather by sitting on the buggy board and eldest , like me just has wellies and waterproofs at the ready.
My baby jogger summit is just not working due to buggy board not fitting and lack of easy fold (our house is very small with no storage). So we are looking for a replacement. If I have to I will just revert to baby jogger GT as it did the job but I would much prefer an inline double as I’m finding three kids a bigger struggle by far than the two and it would be nice to pack away the younger two in there when we just need to get the hell home and everyone is screaming. I’m looking at the Phil and Teds dot and am quite keen but as DS2 is 3 and average to tall size for his age I’m worried he won’t fit in the seat. The thing about baby jogger is the strollers have tall seats at least.
Would PT dot work for us? And any recommendations for an inline double for 3 year old and newborn?
