Uppababy Cruz or Silver Cross Pioneer

Hi,

We are looking at the Uppababy Cruz or the Silver Cross Pioneer.

Uppababy appears to be smoother overall, and folds smaller (not a huge issue for us) however not sure it's as comfy for the babe vs the Silver Cross which looks really snug and come with everything we need plus has more under storage. We live in the city and I expect I will be walking mostly or when using the pram mostly with my other half. We are getting the maxi cosy car seat to turn whichever pram into a travel system.

Would be interested to hear anyone's reviews on either pram. My main concern with the Silver Cross is are we just paying for the name - reviews online appear to be mixed.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Louise

I had the pioneer on both of mine and it is a very comfortable prank for the baby and very smooth to push around. Absolutely loved it. The basket underneath is also a great size for shopping etc ....

The Cruz bassinet is suitable for overnight sleeping.

I bought the Uppababy Vista as I think it’s sturdier and more comfortable for a newborn but was considering the Cruz and Silver Cross. What made me decide was seeing the Vista and Cruz in action in the states (have family who use both). The Cruz was perfect in urban settings but the Vista was a better all rounder for the country and urban settings we need. Plus it’s a lot easier to use than the silver cross (for me) and I got it a lot cheaper in the sales.

Yes the carrycot for both the cruz and vista are suitable for overnights. But if you are planning to buy the carrycot then go for the Vista, as it may be slightly cheaper

We have a Silver Cross Pioneer, which we have always got on really well with (and we're still using it most days for 16 month old DS) but we bought it second hand, so it just cost us £100 (plus £25 for a new carrycot mattress). I don't think it would have been worth the full new price, but then I don't think there is a pram in the world that's actually worth £800!
