Egg - am I doing the right thing?!

Hi everyone - first pregnancy, baby due in December.

I went to a pram superstore today with the intention of trying out the Uppababy Vista or the Maxi Cosi Adorra. I liked both of them, but the Vista felt huge but the Adorra wasn't as nice and smooth to push as the Vista.

Instead, I fell in love with the Egg. I suppose it's like an iPhone - you know it's probably not the best value for money, and a bit overpriced, but it feels right and I love the design!

I've found one online with trendybaby.com for £750 - includes the carrycot and raincover etc. I'm itching to order it as it looks like a really good deal - but have I been seduced by a shiny thing? I'd love to hear your experiences from anyone who bought an Egg!

The vista is amazing. My friend had the egg and her lo was out of it by 8 months due to lack of space. The vista will last you. And the basket is amazing

8 months?! Oh dear. That's not good . . .

I was worried the Vista was quite large when it comes to public transport - I'll probably get the train fairly regularly. How did you find it, size-wise?

Ime if you're using public transport a lot a pram with a carrycot is a bit of a waste of money.

You need a from birth stroller that folds down easily and is light to lift.
I've got a joie chrome dlx that I find really good as it folds easily but still has the option to parent face

I have the egg and use public transport all the time. It fits in very small spaces on the bus and has never been an issue. Dd is 22 months old and has plenty of room left in it. I bought it because of the size, I liked how it was quite slimline. The vista felt too big for me but I am quite short. Having used the egg almost daily for 22 months I have no complaints and have had no issues

Hmmm. So the one I saw for £750 seems to be made of a blue shiny material with a snake print texture . . . might rethink that one!

I still think it's a lovely, quality compact pushchair but I am concerned about the size and longevity of use - maybe I'll get my toddler nephew to test-drive one 😄

We bought one for our twins when they first came out in 2016 and loved it, I'm using it again now for my 8 month old. Definitely more than enough room for her to use it for the foreseeable future! I still stick the extra seat on sometimes if one of the older kiddos is a bit tired great purchase that will last you years if you want it to. Very sturdy and great quality.
