Baby jogger carrycot won't fit

Hello, would be grateful for any advice as can't understand what is going wrong!
I have a new baby jogger city mini GT pushchair, and a second hand compact carrycot of the same brand. I also have a set of adapters that fit both items. However the carrycot appears to be about 3 cm too wide for the pushchair frame (it does fit in the frame but won't attach to the adapters IYSWIM). According to the internet, these two items ought to be compatible - so what has gone wrong? Pictures showing the adapter and how much too wide it is (looks similar on both sides when carrycot put into frame)

Can you post the carrycot?

I have an older version on the baby jogger and I used a carrycot. It was tricky to put on.

I put the adaptors (first pic) low down on the frame. I took the pushchair cover off.

I have no idea what the second pic is showing. I'm assuming new adaptors? The old carrycot didn't use those ones. Just the first set.

Being second hand, it could be that where the carry cot and adapter meet is damaged but would need the carrycot photo to see.

Thanks. The second picture on my first post is showing the adapter attached to pushchair frame.

So @user1471530109, and the bit where the adapter attaches.

Sorry don't know what happened there. Message was supposed to be as follows

Thanks. The second picture on my first post is showing the adapter attached to pushchair frame.

So user , do you mean that your older carrycot had a different type of adapter?

Here are more pictures showing carrycot, label, and the bit where the adapter attaches.

It's a different carrycot to the one I use by the looks of it. Back when mine were younger, you could choose a soft carrycot and a hard carrycot. The soft one had to be positioned with the seat covering on I believe. The hard carrycot (it was still soft but had hard boning/frame) you needed to take the pushchair covering off as it was bigger.

It could be that the adapters are the wrong ones. Mine were big black things with a silver round prong sticking up. The black part opened up to fit around the pushchair frame and I think you then tightened it. The silver bit faced up to push the carrycot on to it. It was same adapters to add a car seat (like maxi Cosi).

My pushchair is probably 10years old as dd1 is nearly 10! Carrycot was bought about 6 years ago and it was already the 'old' one. I struggled to source it.

Ok, thanks. Will have to try the manufacturer I think.

Hi @pushchairhelp we have also been gifted an old Baby Jogger carry cot and are looking at buying a newer model stroller (City Tour 2 or City Elite) but worried that we may have the same issue. Did you manage to get the carry cot to fit the stroller?
