Baby Jogger City Select Double weight limit - UK vs US

Hi all,

Looking at buying this for when I have a newborn plus 16-17mo.

Older child is now 11mo and already over 11kg. At first I’d ruled this pram
Out due to 15kg weight limit per seat/lack of longevity - but it ticks all my other boxes.

Anyway, I looked on US amazon and the weight limit is 20.5kg per seat.

Presuming they just had different safety / testing standards as a country (and that the product is the same) I emailed baby jogger to double check.

Got the following reply (understand they need to word things carefully!):

The reason for the difference between the different weight limits in each country is due to the safety standards in each region also differing. In the UK the pushchair has been tested up to 15kg each seat. The US weight limit will differ from this, as they will test the seats to different standards, and the pushchairs in each region will be manufactured to abide by these standards.

Hmmmmm. They’re all made in China apparently.

Anyone any idea if they are the exact same pushchair ?!

I’ve emailed back to ask if they are the same product or not ... may not get a straight answer for legal reasons though !!

I always assumed they were the same chair! Wpukdnt make financial sense to do an inferior chair for the European market surely

That’s what I thought. A bit more emailing back and forth has happened. She just keeps saying they are manufactured in line with the safety standards of each country ... which doesn’t mean that the UK one is any different.
