Hi all,

I have a 3mo baby who had inherited my red hair and pale skin!

We're planning our summer holiday and will be taking our icandy cherry.

I'm a first time jimmy and I'm not sure whether to opt for a parasol or a uv fabric cover that drapes of the whole front of the pushchair.

I'll be using baby sunscreen , hats etc but would like the option of a ivy cover too...

My worries are -

Parasol - will it require constant readjustment depending on position of sun etc? Will it provide adequate protection?

Uv cover - will baby be prevented from seeing out (she would hate that)? They are all black - will they absorb heat/ will there be heat build up behind it ? Will it be annoying to lift up to check on baby (or can you see through it from outside)?

What have others opted for and were you happy with it?

Thanks wise ones!!

Xx

I got a parasol to take to south of france when my son was newborn.... it was about as useful as a chocolate fireguard! Needed constant re positioning and even then did not really work as if theres bright sunlight all around it doesnt protect from that. Ended up just not using it at all because it was such a faff.
Wish id got a UV guard cover... ended up draping muslins over the rain hood for shade which can be dangerous in high temps due to it getting very hot in the pram.
Id deffo go for a UV guard.
However when it comes down to it all you can do is make sure your pram is in the shade as much as possible in high temps.... dont go out at midday, always put pram in shade of trees whenever you can etc etc

Don't suppose anyone has used a uv cover ?
