Need a buggy for travel / flights / big trip

We are travelling log haul in a couple of weeks. DC2 is just turning 2yrs, hates being in a buggy but still needs it when tired (annoying!) At home we have a Baby Jogger City Mini GT (off road version) but it's big, heavy, hard to fold and she doesn't really like it as doesn't sit that upright in it.

Any suggestions for a lightweight, easy fold and easy to push one handed if needed stroller? Doesn't need to lie flat anymore. Price is important but will probably buy second hand.

I have looked into Micralites which seem to fit the bill but they're expensive. Anyone got any other recommendations?

Honestly, get a cheap one from Argos, you don't seem to need it afterwards and it won't matter too much if it gets damaged while you're away.

Well i have done this before, bought a cheapo Hauck one for DC1 (£50 i think) when we went away before (she was 2.5yrs), it's an easy umbrella fold and light BUT low handles so awkward to push and really hard to manoeuvre. Bearing in mind we will have loads of luggage and another DC in tow I was looking for something I could move easily, the cheapo Hauck one is really annoying!

Have you tried the sit up straps for the gt? Have a look on eBay - made a real difference for my dd in a baby jogger.

Why do you find it hard to fold? Is it faulty? Surely it's just one strap to pull?

Armadillo city. Light, folds easy, lays flat, large hood, robust.

I've taken my baby jogger gt on quite a few flights, found it easy to fold while holding baby as you just pull one handle. It's not the lightest but you don't carry it so I didn't find the weight a problem, just fold up and down through security and gate and then you push.
I've always found umbrella folds awful to push-once you've got used to bj gt, a lot of other prams seem horrible to push though.

Zeta vooom- bought it 4 years ago from amazon, intending it to be trashed when we took our 18 month old to Australia. It held up alarmingly well on the 7 flights and is now our main pushchair for DC2.

It has a big double fold hood, big shopping basket and a slightly rubbish raincover although I bought a universal one from boots instead.

Was £50 when I bought it. I love it as it's easy to push and general sling around the place.

We have the city mini, not GT, which is a bit lighter than the GT. Have taken it everywhere - transatlantic, transpacific. It's been to Asia, Australia/NZ, to uk/Vienna/Madrid, Caribbean, Mexico, from the US.

If you're determined not to use the city mini, my dsis had a couple of uppababy g8 (I think that's what they were called) umbrella strollers. One had no recline and one has a slight recline. Very lightweight and I believe could gold with one hand. We also checked out the maclaren strollers - think the quest was one we almost bought.

Not tried the sit up straps but will definitely look into those! Yes the GT does fold easily but it's quite heavy and also bulky and we are trying to save space as will be hiring cars etc and in small hotel rooms etc so thought perhaps something else would work. I will look at all these suggestions though, thanks!

We have a Chicco London as our travel pushchair. It's not the smallest but has withstood a few trips and our 2.5 year old is comfy in it.
