Any advice gratefully received!
I am due my first baby in May and in a bit of a state of confusion over pushchairs/carseats. My budget is £600.
I am pretty close to buying the Jane Epic Matrix Light 2 with Isofix base, because:
- I need to do a long journey in July so the lie-flat car seat will be helpful to avoid me having to stop umpteen times. For such a long journey (6 hours) I would be concerned about my 3-month old in an upright carseat given recent findings re oxygen saturation etc. Obviously I'll have to stop to feed etc. but I imagine the lie-flat car seat will buy me a little time!
- The convenience of the Matrix also being suitable for overnight sleeping means that when we're away I don't need to take a separate carrycot/travel cot.
- Epic has good tyres and looks fit for some tame offroading (tracks, canal paths etc.)
- Epic feels nice to steer etc.
- Generally the Epic seems a lot of pushchair for the money. Comparable all-terrain tyred pushchairs tend to be more expensive.
The Jane Muum is slightly cheaper but doesn't look so suitable for non-tarmac surfaces. If anyone has any experience of the Muum I'd also be interested to hear about it.
Thank you to anyone who can offer their view on any of this. It feels like quite an overwhelming decision because it is such a lot of money!
