Babyzen vs GB pocket

We live abroad and so spend a good bit of time flying home for visits. I have an umbrella stroller which I use for travel but often it fails to turn up at the gate of the airplane. Which is vuuury annoying when you have a 1&3yo and tonnes of carry on.

Has anyone used these? Are they worth the money (more the babyzen I suppose because it's more expensive) and then are they any good for using when you arrive at your destination? Are they flimsy?

We faced the same dillema. Over 22 flights last year and ds just turned 1. After much umming and ahhing we've bought the pockit. I've bought a universal raincover for £2 which fits and stays on, a sunshade with more coverage for £10 and a luggage to strap to loop in and carry it. We've only done small trips and so far it feels great. I can fit it into a carryon size rucksack and there is still plenty of room for nappies and flight stuff.

Also worth looking at the Mountain Buggy Nano. It has a 20kg weight limit so can carry up to a 4 year old. It also comes with adapters to put a car seat on it. We've been using ours this holiday and love it, even went in overhead lockers on EasyJet flight. Only downside is the handle is a bit low but I'm 5 ft 10 and manage with it. There are some good deals to be had on EBay.

I have the Ickle Bubba Awful brand name Aurora which claims to fit as overhead luggage... Haven't tried it yet but will report back if it's possible.

Thanks for the suggestions. The latter two I hadn't even heard of. The ickle bubba is $800 so I'm not prepared to buy that although it looks v nice. The mountain buggy is a good contender though, in between the pocket (-$200) and the babyzen (+$400).

Is the mountain buggy sturdy? I've tried the pocket and I was concerned about it feeling flimsy.

That's a huge price difference for the Ickle Bubba in dollars. Hope you find something that suits your needs.

The pockit is great for nipping in and out of ships and the compact size is great for travel but it's undeniably flimsy and zero back support for child- they slouch and have no protect from the elements. Personally I'd go yoyo for what you describe.

The mountain buggy is very light so it's not as sturdy as a traditional heavier pushchair but it still holds up quite well over rougher terrain and given it can hold up to 20kg it has to be fairly sturdy. Nice full size seat too, we've been walking for miles this holiday and I've used it for both my 9 month old and nearly four year old when her legs have got tired. She assures me it's very comfortable. It was the weight limit that made me choose it over the babyzen.

Re flimsiness though I haven't ever pushed the babyzen or pocket so can't compare I'm afraid.

The pocket looks awful I'm afraid. Several have on school run and a whee fell off last week and they always sound so rattling and need dragging around to turn

I would go for BAByzen.

I have Yoyos and have done long haul flights with them and they are worth it. I have a 2 and 1 year old so have 2 Yoyos - I push one child, DH the other. I looked at the Pockit and it just felt too flimsy...

Pocket is great for being on flights. I have one and it's basically made it possible to travel with my son (I can't carry him for long, bad back.) I have a buggy at both ends so I only use it for airport transfers.
It's is not, however, something I'd be using outdoors much. There's no sunshade and it is flimsy. It's definitely a niche product and it's brilliant in that niche.
The yoyo is a better bet if you want something you can use day to day and travel with. It reclines and is a little more sturdy. If you want something you can use at your destination I'd go for the yoyo.

Love my yoyo. It's very sturdy for the size/weight although not masses of side support so smaller babies can slump a bit. Rain cover is easy to put on. I use it out and about in London when in the car or going by tube plus when on hols/at airports. It manages very well although doesn't have great suspension. However because it is so light, it's easy to bump/tip it up and down kerbs and to carry it (with baby in) over obstacles without too much hassle.
