What does the baby lie on in a pram?

Hi

I've been given an oldish pram and it doesn't come with a foot muff, which we're buying separately. My question is - in summer, what do you use to keep the baby comfy but not hot? I'm presuming something to lie on rather than in? And are there any cheap alternatives to a fleece?

Sheepskin liners are soft and cosy, but cool in summer. You can buy them preloved. Or there are plain liners.
