DC2 due in April when DD1 will be 23 months and I'm trying to decide on a double buggy. I've ruled out a tandem due to awkwardness in lifting onto curbs, a hilly town, issues with seat recline for naps, and the kids in them always looking squashed.
Anyone have either of the above?
We live in a large town and I walk everywhere. Pavements can be narrow, made worse by ambling tourists at times. Narrow doors can be an issue also, though I could avoid most of them. I do have to lift up and down on/off curbs at times.
I'm small so lighter weight would be good (I know I'll have to suck this up to some degree).
No public transport here but I'll occasionally be wanting to fold up the buggy and transport it in the car, ideally with space for a suitcase. I don't mind not having it folded at home, though if double buggies are as unwieldy as I fear I may change my mind on that.
Currently have a BJCMGT single which I adore. Points especially for the big hood (it rains a lot here) and space for a small shop in the basket.
I'm verrrry tempted by the double but I wonder is it worth going for the duet for its narrow width and better (?) manoeuvrability. If I could get a narrower BJCMGT double my decision would be made!
Also looking for lie-flat seats so I don't have to get a carrycot.
I'll have to test drive them I know but would appreciate any pearls of wisdom from those with experience of either!
