Vista carrycots and overnight sleeping

Hi,

Expecting twins later this year and edging towards the new Vista, which can take two newborns. I have a question about the carrycots. I've seen on the website that they're safe for overnight sleeping. We're planning on putting both babies in a cot bed in our room, but a relative has offered to come and help out overnight occasionally and has said that they would be happy to have the babies in with them overnight, bringing them to us if necessary. The cot bed will be difficult to relocate, so I was just wondering if these carrycots would be really, properly safe for the occasional night, two or three nights on the trot at most. I'll figure something else out if they're not the best idea, but at the moment that seems like the easiest option. Any opinions?

There is no way that the manufacturers would claim they were safe for overnight sleeping if they weren't completely totally certain they were safe. Fwiw I used the Vista carrycot as my DD's overnight bed for the first two months of her life (no room for a Moses basket as well as the pram and no room for a cot in my bedroom)

We used it as my baby was a tummy sleeper from a very young age so I bought an angel care monitor which needed a solid base. The moses basket wasn't suitable but the vista carry cot was and he slept happily in it until he outgrew it at about 4 months and we just put him into the cot. It has also saved an awful lot of hassle when we have gone away for the weekend as we only needed the carrycot, not an additional moses basket. I have absolutely loved my vista, we had it on the beach this weekend and it was brilliant! Good luck with your babies

Thanks, that's reassuring to know. It really would be the most convenient option, another plus point for the Vista! I thought the manufacturers couldn't really advertise overnight safety unless it really was, just needed my mind put at ease.

Dd slept in it until she was 7mo!! So much better than the Moses!

Totally fine. I never had a moses basket. After 2 kids mine will probably be used for the last time tomoro as we're away for the weekend and it's easier than travel cot. sniff
