Best travel system for petite mums?

I'm 5' and DH is 5'11"...

Had the 'JL' session at the weekend and the Uppababy Vista came out on top but I am a little concerned about the handle height which is about level with the bottom of my ribcage in flats. DH literally doesn't see the problem but they had a Bugaboo buffalo in store too. We discounted it due to weight but the handle went down much lower than anything else - reading online it looks like it's 92 cm as opposed to the Vista's 103 which is quite a difference!

Any other recommendations on options for littlies? Ideally:

  • not overly heavy - easy lifting when folded is more important than exact weight.
  • Possibly flexible with regards to multiple children though ideally 3yr age gap.
  • Good on rough ground as we live rurally with limited pavements.
  • Not too fussy on size as we have an estate and would only be making the occasional bus journey.

It looks like the Mamas and Papas Sola may be an option but the nearest stockist is 30 miles away!

Thanks in advance!

How about the bugaboo bee?

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 21/04/2015 10:11

Thanks primrose

We did look at the bee but it didn't feel anywhere near robust enough. The Cameleon was an option but same issue with the handle as the Vista.

I reckon have a look at the easy walker mini or mosey. Robust but compact. The vista really is a big pushchair, the 2015 is even wider than the old model.

I am the same height as you and live really. I went with city mini gt for rural walks and the bee for when I use the train or go shopping. Both easy to lift for me and the handle on the gt is very adjustable. It doesn't parent face but the bee gives me that.

That should say rurally !

I'm 5 2 and my ICandy Raspberry is perfect for me, it's nice and light to push and quite low down but the handle extends really high for DH to use too.

Thanks zozo. That was my only issue with the city jogger
Nish I think the icandys will def need exploring. They don't get the same universal acclaim of the Vista but everybody's different!
