Baby Jogger Citi Mini Jogger GT - do you have one?

I am looking at this model and I quite like it but I am a bit concerned about it from birth.

Do you have the carrycot - is the regular one ok or should I think about the deluxe one?

Can you put the car seat straight onto the chassis like the carrycot or does it need to be put on the seat? I think this looks a bit weird?!)

Is the basket too small to be useful?

Is it an issue that it faces away from the parent in pushchair mode?

Car seat - no you don't need the seat fabric on. We're still in carrycot stage and so the seat fabric is still in the box but we have plonked the car seat on a few times. You do need the adaptors - where we bought it they threw it in for free but technically it's a seperate item.

Carrycot - we've got the new deluxe one and it is lovely. It's only a few cm longer but is quite a bit deeper which really makes a difference, I think with the older smaller carrycots babies are more likely to start pulling themselves up by the side of the cot before they actually grow out of it. However the new one is about £160 and so a lot more expensive than the older ones which can be got for about £80 new IIRC and there are quite a few on eBay barely used. DD is 2m, 11lb, 56cm and still has plenty of room. I'm hoping to keep her in it as long as possible. For a winter baby it's been great, I wouldn't have wanted her in the normal seat, even in a cocoon, esp as it's not parent facing.

Basket- no not small at all IMHO. I can fit quite a bit of shopping in there. Or our coats and change bag. But not sure how the room is affected once seat fabric is on.

Pushchair mode- we haven't got there yet. I would have liked a parent facing option and originally wanted the Versa, but the fold of the city mini just won me over. It's sooooo easy. And such an easy push. I don't know how I'll feel about turning DD forward when she grows out of carrycot, but I thought i had to make a decision one way or the other! Already though as she's growig and getting less fragile I'm not as concerned about it as I was. It is a personal thing though and you never know if you'll justbhappen to get a baby who loves / hates parent facing once they hit a certain age. One thing to note is that due to the windows on the hood, you can still see them in the pushchair when it's up. And if the hood isn't up obviously you can easily talk to them whenever you want.

We haven't got the gt version but the one before. I love it!

I'm now expecting number 2 and I'm gutted I'm going to have to get a double.

We used the carry cot til 3 months ish then switched to the seat using a cosy liner. Our son is nearly 2 and is really comfy in it and the fold function Is so good. People always comment on it when I can fold on the bus!

I never found the switch to non parent facing a problem at all. My son is very social and likes looking around him! The sun shade is one of the best too, it's massive, no messing around with pegging muslins on sunny days as I see so many mums having to do!

We were looking for a pushchair that could fold easily and small and that would be good off-road. The mini GT matched all the criteria.
As it is suitable from birth, the lady in the shop convinced us not to get the carrycot. The reclining chair is quite comfy and we've added a cosy-toes which despite being huge for the little one keeps him snugly and warm. There is a bit at the back to prevent wind from getting in on a cold and windy walk. As long as the baby is well strapped, all is fine.
We have a maxi-cosy that clips on top (adapters needed) and that Goes on isofix base in car.

Yes I have the GT. I can't answer for the carrycot issue as we didn't have it when either of the boys were that small but I can vouch for the basket being fairly cavernous. I've stuffed a days worth of clutter for a family outing before without breaking a sweat.

I've never had a problem with baby facing out, its always suited my children to be nosey at everyone but me as they've got older.

Its not my first pushchair (far from it) but it is most definitely the last and the best one.

I can't answer the carrycot questions as I bought the GT to replace my double pram(s) but it's the nicest to push and the one I like most of all the prams I've had so far even though I'm now pushing a lumpy 2yr old or occasionally lazy 3 yr old.

Tell you later, mine is due for delivery 13.41-14.41!! Have had loads of prams and just into the 'stroller' phase but being walkers this isn't too big/bulky and hopefully still a comfy ride/push ??
