Armadillo flip vs baby jogger versa?

Can anyone help me decide between these two? I'm looking for a parent facing main pushchair to last until baby is out of pushchairs, for urban use/parks, and including taking on the bus. I've kind of talked myself into the versa on paper and can find some discounted/second hand, but can't actually see one locally, and am worried now that it might be too heavy - I can't afford to get something else in a few months time. Then I went into Mamas and Papas thinking about an on sale sola but got talked into looking at the flip and really liked it - but is it worth £400, as there don't seem to be any second hand/discounted available?

If anyone's seen both these in person I've love your views! Thanks!

Flip is brand new - just launched in Nov, so you won't find it 2nd hand anywhere (yet) - keep an eye out though, as there may be some people out there who got it, and it doesn't work for them...

You might find Armadillo City - but that's not parent facing :(

(I've gone for the Flip due to space saving, weight, parent facing and colour - picking it up at the weekend!)

I'm probably going for the flip. Baby not due until June so haven't fully decided. But I really like the look of it and how compact it goes. Have a small boot for my car so another good thing.

Hope its price drops a wee bit though. Will be keeping an eye on 2nd hand as well Smile

There's also rumours of Flip XT coming out - with bigger wheels, leather handle and even larger canopy!

Thanks all, have now had good (online) look around and looks like the choice is between £400 for flip, £320 for new versa, or around £150-200 for secondhand versa. And now interested in the easy walker mosey which is £420 but looks like it will do everything…Clearly the overdraft prefers the secondhand versa but I wish it didn't have a bucket seat!

I wonder if the flip will go down in price when the new one out - do any pushchair veterans know if this happens?

Should this be this difficult?
Thanks again

If your concern with the versa' bucket seat is the newborn phase then I've been using mine with a wedge and cocoon since my son was 3 months old. It's super snug and comfy (he was a carrycot hater). If I had another neeborn I would happily do this combo from birth

The flip is gougeous in that green teal color. Sadly would never work for us as the handle is not adjustable. That is such a bummer.
Im guessing flip will go down in price, or atbleast they will offer some sort of package deal.
I think at 400 flip is overpriced.

Amazon currently has the Versa (non-GT version) for £243.

moresunnyeveryday · 11/01/2015 14:57

thankyou thankyou ladybunnikins - my order just in. That price must literally have dropped overnight, and definitely resolves the discussion! Perhaps they are making way for the new colours that I think are on their way? Anyway, very happy about that…Grin

Lentilpot, hadn't thought of using a wedge and cocoon, was it a special one for the versa, as can't find any details online? My daughter has never liked carrycot either. Is it possible to improvise with rolled towel etc. ?(sorry if this is naive suggestion)

Not sure what will do with self now decision is made...

I used the mamas and papas sola city wedge, I've also heard about the silver cross surf, a stokke one and maybe one meant for the uppababy vista? I was really skeptical till I saw my friend's baby in the sola city with the wedge and he looked really cosy!

GoMommaItsaBargain · 12/01/2015 13:25

I ordered the versa off amazon for 243 as well! Was a bit of a snap decision but am excited to receive it tmrw and get using it, will be lovely to have dc3 parent facing again (been in phil and teds which is fab) just as he turns one, then the older two can chat to him as we walk to/from school as well, was almost ready to pay the 399 from elsewhere but felt nervous doing that not having seen one in the flesh, 243 is fine though!

moresunnyeveryday · 12/01/2015 15:35

I'm excited to try it out too…really hoping I like it. (just realised what a daft and self evident thing that is to say - will blame teething baby).

Noticed price went back up on Amazon last night, so feel lucky to have got an order in...

Yes lucky indeed! To be honest I think 240-300 is a more realistic price for them anyway, 400 a bit steep although I know it is unlike anything else out there! Also the resale value will be v good compared to if we had paid the full price, doubt they will be that cheap again for a while! Just had dispatched email/txt so it's arriving tmrw! Agree hope I like it when it arrives! Just re watched te babyguy gear guide YouTube video on it and it seems totally fab and anyone on here seems to have lots hugely positive things to say about them.
